What did this guy have planned? The FBI has released the affidavit filed in the case of Nicholas John Roske, who was arrested near the home of Supreme Court Justice Bret Kavanagh on Wednesday afternoon. The list of weapons and gear the suspect had on his person reads like something out of a horror movie. Roske, who told police that he planned to assassinate Kavanaugh, was arrested with a suitcase containing “a black tactical chest rig and tactical knife, a Glock 17 pistol with two magazines and ammunition, pepper spray, zip ties, a hammer, screwdriver, nail punch, crow bar, pistol light, duct tape, hiking boots with padding on the outside

FTA: "What was the would-be assassin planning to do with the zip ties and the duct tape? Those don’t seem like items you’d need for an assassination, do they?" Kidnapping for ransom would seem bizarre, but crazies gotta craze. Or did he intend a murder-suicide? That's more likely. The web site named for the late Justice Ruth Ginsburg is responsible for publicizing addresses of enemies of the Left. They hope some true believer will follow through with murder. If the worst happens, the sick people who doxxed Justice Kavanaugh or anyone else leftists hate should be imprisoned for being accessories to murder. The DOJ won't do anything to the doxxers, so maybe Merrick Garland should find himself in the dock after he leaves the DOJ and different people are in charge.

He packed whatever the "retired" government agents told him to pack. FTA: "He said he planned to kill Kavanaugh and then commit suicide to give his life purpose." He could have just killed himself, or better yet, since it's Pride Month, become Transgender and join the 41%.

In other words he was just another complete “nut job” looking for fame by submitting his body to a suicide by cop. In the last weeks everybody was informed by the media that the homes of the Supreme Court Justices were under 24/7 guard by law enforcement. The intending perpetrator should have known that, so how was he going to get inside the Justice’s homes?

". . . to give his life purpose. . ." For goodness sake, jail and prosecute these people and let them be an example for anyone else who want to claim mental incompetency as an excuse to commit murder.

All that garbage would weigh a guy down and make him ineffective except as a speed bump. Best guess is his CIA handler said the magic word and triggered this response in an already insane person they'd been grooming. He was not supposed to succeed. He was supposed to get the anti American gun control screaming started again.

ls it immoral to drive an electric vehicle? 1 reply

Of all the crazy policies we see implemented around us, from decriminalizing theft to teaching children to change their “gender,” perhaps the craziest is government’s determination to force us to drive electric vehicles. EVs like the Tesla are perfectly fine cars, or would be if they weren’t subsidized or mandated. But they are terrible for the environment, and the conditions under which their materials are mined raise serious ethical questions. Ronald Stein makes excellent points in his column titled “Is it ethical to purchase a lithium battery powered EV?” "The lower image is just one lithium supply mine where entire mountains are

I’ve been promising to collect our own lexicon of the real meaning of key leftist terms—an undated version of Ambrose Bierce’s Devil’s Dictionary, for a while now. So here goes. Readers are encouraged to propose additional definitions and terms in the comment thread, and we’ll update this lexicon from time to time. Populism: When the wrong person or cause wins a free election, like Brexit, Trump, or a Soros DA recall. Racism: Any opposition to the agenda of the left. Democracy: Any institutional design or voting system that enables the left to get what it wants. Threat to democracy: When Republicans win an election. Equality: Outmoded idea from the Declaration of Independence.

In April, a black nationalist terrorist named Frank James opened fire on the downtown N subway train in Manhattan. While the racist gunman had a large stockpile of weapons, he happened to use a Glock pistol that he had bought over ten years ago. Now Glock is being sued. James bought the gun in Columbus, Ohio in 2011. So he quite clearly didn’t purchase it, intending to shoot up a New York City subway train. Nevertheless the lawsuit blames the gunmaker for having "contributed to creating and maintaining a public nuisance in the State of New York" even though the gun wasn't even sold in New York.

Of all the shortages that I have reported in recently, a possible coffee bean shortage must be ranked among the most dire. It turns out coffee bean reserves have plunged to their lowest since the 2000s. …Stockpiles of high-end Arabica beans, a favourite of artisan coffee shops and chains such as Starbucks, totalled 1.078 million bags, or about 143 million pounds, according to data released Monday by the ICE Futures US exchange.” Brazil is the world’s top coffee producer. By the 1820’s it was already producing thirty percent of the world’s coffee. Today, it produces a third of the world’s coffee with 40 to 60 million bags annually.

Everyone has an opinion, and the pundits are competing in the expertise sweepstakes. What can we say with some degree of plausibility? The Democrat roster is, by all accounts, dramatically uninspiring. Biden, who speaks in tongues, is plainly beyond redeeming; the question is whether he will manage to survive the year, let alone stumble, lollop, and whiffle to the end of his first term. The radical left has been falsely accusing Trump of inciting the Capitol riot for over a year now, and their upcoming televised hearings later this week prove that their main objective is to keep the riot in people’s minds even though Americans have long since moved on. But the Democrats and RINOs on the committee are still hoping they can exploit the riot and get people to blame Trump and the Republicans. In the year the committee has been active, they’ve failed to produce any evidence of Trump’s culpability in the riot, but that’s not stopping them from claiming otherwise. In fact, one committee member is even saying they “found evidence”

The White House served up Hollywood star Matthew McConnaughey to lecture us on the virtues of assorted gun control proposals yesterday. He doesn’t think too much of the Second Amendment. He has a superficial above-it-all take on the culture war. He is a tool of the Biden administration. In the wake of recent mass shootings in New York, Texas, and Oklahoma, Democrats are once again sending Americans up a blind alley. Their “solution” is to punish millions of law-abiding gun owners for the crimes of a few evil maniacs. Undeniably, there is a certain appeal to this response. Gun control is a facile “fix” to a complex problem. Americans have owned guns since the founding, but it wasn’t until comparatively recently that mass shootings became a concern. Guns are not the problem. Our culture is. Broken cultures produce broken human beings. For every school shooter, there are thousands of other weak, confused, mentally disturbed men

It wasn’t that long ago when the left’s narrative on ‘gay rights’ was simple, straightforward, and easy to support: Let’s all be tolerant of one another, live and let live, and don’t discriminate. Tolerance is, after all, one of the fundamental tenets of the philosophy which drove America’s founding. But as the saying goes, “give someone an inch and they’ll take a mile,” which is the situation in which we find ourselves today. The message of ‘tolerance’ eventually morphed into ‘acceptance.’ At some point late in the Obama Administration, our culture decided that it was inadequate to merely tolerate the shenanigans of the LGBTQ community, we needed to welcome them.

More than 1,000 people have been interviewed by the panel, and only snippets of that testimony have been revealed to the public, mostly through court filings.

I'd made long road trips before, surviving popped tires, blown headlights and shredded wheel-well liners in my 2008 Volkswagen Jetta. I figured driving the brand-new Kia EV6 I'd rented would be a piece of cake. If, that is, the public-charging infrastructure cooperated. We wouldn't be the first to test it.
