At least three Republican candidates vying to take the governor’s seat in Michigan will not appear on the August primary ballot after a high court decision ended their campaigns after days of legal battles and appeals to qualify. The Michigan Supreme Court on Friday sided with the state Bureau of Elections in its rulings that presumptive front-runner and former Detroit Police Chief James Craig, businessman Perry Johnson, and financial adviser Michael Markey did not qualify to appear on the primary ballot. The three candidates were initially ruled ineligible in May after the state found they failed to submit enough valid petition signatures.

Call it what it is and ask for write-ins! There is no reason someone determined and charismatic enough can't win because the voters need to work a little extra. If you belive in your goals, your intentions, GO FOR IT!!
Be courageous!

Expect more of this. Corrupt entities are formed to collect signatures and deliberately submit invalid signatures with the intent of getting the candidates kicked off the ballots. The challenges are not filed until it is too late for the campaign to collect new valid signatures. It is all coordinated by the democrats.

IIRC, Lisa Murkowski ran a write-in campaign after she lost the Republican primary in Alaska and kept her seat in the Senate. Of course, that was with the blessing of the GOP establishment. James Craig is popular and an outsider candidate when everyone is sick to death of the establishment Uniparty. He could pull it off while the Dems are busy cheating the Repubs, who are busy looking the other way.

Compare and contrast: Democrat candidate needs votes: Court says, "No problem, let every ballot count, including ones not properly signed, dated or otherwise in violation of the rules and regulations." Republican candidate wants to get on the ballot: Court says, "No way! Our democracy requires that every jot and tittle of the election laws, rules and regulations must be met or your vote doesn't count, because that's how our democracy functions." Get the picture?

But if they couldn't even do the minimum and acquire the required number of signatures for the primary, they probably would have been crappy candidates in the general.

. . . and that's how they're going to keep Half-Whitmer in office. This was a set-up if there ever was one. There definitely needs to be an investigation on just who these signature-gatherers were, and if they were affiliated in any way with the D Party.
#9, James Craig would have been a terrific candidate, and probably would have trounced Half-Whitmer, and that's why he needed to go. (Incidentally, challenging signatures on nominating petitions was how Obama got to the Senate.)

Maybe Michigan voters are so happy with the Whitmer Witch that they will go along with this tactic. I don't think we are going to get through 2024 without some violence if these parties don't straighten out their behavior, both sides. We are seeing now just what a big deal the 2020 theft was and how much damage was done.

If may be a Dem plot but shame on the GOP candidates. If you are going to hire people to obtain signatures and are too lazy or too stupid to have quality control checks to weed out fraud, you do not belong in a leadership role.

Well, if it's any consolation, the liberals in the lower third of our 'mitten' always vote for their benefactors . As the producers/tax payers move "north of the knuckles", to get out of liberal hell (trust me, they are) and we make sure we defend the northern third- they can keep it!

This needs to be investigated. Was it a political dirty trick? There are forces out there that want to invalidate representative government, and stuff like this goes a long way in doing that. Our form of government only works if all involved are honest in their actions. When that stops, representative government ceases to exist.

If it's true that they didn't have enough valid signatures in their application...so be it...but...if this is another sneaky attempt by democrats to "fix" the voting...then watch out...Upper Michigan will fight for independent statehood ...away from the crazy Detroit democratic mob....

The Republican Party, on the national level and in many states, seems incapable of seeing that one tactic of the Democrats to obtain total dominance is to render Republicans illegitimate or even criminal. The January 6 committee’s main purpose is to prevent Trump from running in two years. Its secondary purpose is to proclaim that the Republican Party is insurrectionist. Mitch McConnell and Kevin McCarthy cooperate with the Democrats by their silence concerning the grotesque treatment the Jan. 6 defendants are receiving.
Still, 15,000 valid signatures to qualify to run for governor in a state as populous as Michigan should be easy to reach. What gives with these now disqualified candidates?

When Democrats are in charge of counting anything, the numbers will always align with the preferred outcome that favors the democrat narrative and agenda.

#9 Democrats intentionally submitted fraudulent signatures and submitted to spoil their chances. They all thought they had plenty of over signatures to survive a challenge. If they hadn't any of them could have and would have easily gotten enough signatures. You are blaming the victim who got mugged and couldn't pay the cab fair home for not having a lot more money on them when they left. Not sure that's fair.
