Neighbor blasts Uvalde School Police Chief
Pete Arredondo as ‘a coward’ in wake

The Texas cop under scrutiny for how he handled the response to the Uvalde school massacre stayed out of sight under police protection Saturday — while an angry neighbor slammed him as a “coward.” Uvalde School District Police Chief Pete Arredondo made the call that the carnage at Robb Elementary School on Tuesday had gone from an “active shooter” situation to a “barricaded suspect” standoff, which a top state cop admitted was “the wrong decision.” State investigators are probing whether Arredondo even had a police radio on him when he made the decision, a law enforcement source told The Post. Police waited more than a half-hour to breach the door to two classrooms

Comments:

This coward is still hiding out, unwilling to say anything publicly, and with armed police protection....which he DENIED the children under his care.

I would say Mr. Arredondo's future is worth a bucket of warm spit. He will have to go in a witness protection program to survive.

There are hundreds, maybe thousands, of these little specialized police forces. Most of the time, the heads of these departments' duties are just administrative and managerial, so they attract people who have these skills. Most go through there whole careers doing this. I suspect few ever really contemplate, in effect, leading your force into battle. As the military knows, the hardest decision a leader has to make is to send your subordinates into the line of fire. In most cases, it's harder than putting yourself in harm's way. And despite training, you never really know how you will react until it becomes necessary. That's why a new war will lead to a big shake-up in the military commands, as the administrative and managerial leaders are replaced by the ones who can make this decision. (#3, Uvalde has a 90 percent Hispanic population. Any applicant with an Anglo surname would have been the affirmative action candidate.)

It will be impossible for Chief Arredondo to live down his apparent incompetence during the school shooting where he assumed the position of law enforcement incident commander. Since his life may even be in danger, the right move for him to take is to get out of the Uvalde area immediately if not sooner. Common sense should tell him that. Then in time after all the facts become accurately known he will have to figure out what to do next with his life!

There's a lot to blame way before you get to the rifle. Who left the side door open. Videos? Why did Police not go in? Why does the school allow Police to be at same place as own child? People heard what he wanted to do but . . . silence. Why did they stop the parents? And there's more.

The sad part is the chief cares so little about the community that he has not publicly turned in his badge. It would help to begin healing and it would assist the Governor who was lied to from the beginning.

Please forgive the following "war story," but I can't help but contrast the Uvalde school district chief's actions/inaction with a former colleague who became the Dallas school district chief after a very notable career in Dallas PD. Chief Manny Vasquez was a former Dallas PD SWAT sergeant and former executive assistant chief of of the department, which consisted of around 3,500 officers. One case in point: in 1988, Sgt Vasquez had been assigned to work the annual Texas State Fair, which is held in Dallas. On report of young gang-bangers fighting on the fair's midway, the most family-crowded part of the fair grounds, he proceeded to the location where the fight had escalated into a shooting and homicide, with several fair-going bystanders wounded. With thousands of families on the midway with an active shooter, Sgt. Vasquez, approached and grabbed the shooter from behind and while trying to control the shooter's handgun, inadvertently inserted a finger into the barrel of the gun. The gunman pulled the trigger, blowing off Manny's finger and proceeded to shoot at an off-duty Dallas PD officer rushing in to help Sgt. Vasquez. As the off-duty officer temporarily sought cover, Manny took the shooter to the ground and was struggling to disarm and apprehend the 18 year old gunman when the off-duty officer shot and killed the gunman. When he returned to work, Manny suffered from a lot of ribbing by his Dallas PD colleagues for sticking his finger in the barrel of a gun being used by an active shooter but no one questioned his bravery and dedication to protect the citizens of Dallas. While now retired, I suspect his decisions and actions would have been quite different had he been the Uvalde school district police chief last week.

There is a lot of mumbo-jumbo psych talk circulating around the dead bodies in Uvalde, a town I knew pretty well because I consulted frequently with their hospital administrator. I want to remind readers of the problem of personality disorders (P.D.) and distinguish P.D. from mental illness. P.D. is a pattern of anti-social or dysfunctional behavior caused not by mental illness, but by bad manners and bad social adaptation. There are three groups of personality disorders. In the emergency medicine part of my life, I taught residents that P.D.s are the weird, the wild, and the withdrawn.

To win any fight, we must first know our enemy. There are those who argue we are in a struggle with Marxism, though in reality, we battle the organizational and operational tenets of the Marxist tree, not the ideology itself. We know that this is not a Marxist movement because it ignores Marxism's core clientele: the workers. In fact, these people despise the Marxist's traditional constituents. Instead, they toil for a small minority of the "marginalized" in society whom middle Americans find to be fringe and anathema to their core values. Even then, their movement doesn't seek a revolution of the marginalized.

The city council of Haven, Kansas, voted 3-2 on Monday to reverse a unanimous decision they made May 2 to remove "In God We Trust" decals from the city's police cars, following an uproar from some in the community. The city attorney said the Haven City Council's previous decision emerged from a desire to maintain a separation between church and state, according to local KWCH. The follow-up vote on Monday was not on the original agenda of the city council, which had to move their weekly forum to a nearby community center because of how many attended. Seven people spoke at the typically uneventful meeting, where all but one supported the decals.

Chiang Kai-Shek, who succeeded Sun Yat-sen as head of the Kuomingtang (KMT), the nationalist, anti-communist party behind the Republic of China (ROC), dedicated his life to building a unified and modern China. By 1949, though, he’d lost the long war on the mainland against communism and was forced to retreat with his followers to establish the ROC on Taiwan. From that day forward, Mao Zedong wanted to destroy the ROC. His generals prepared for a Battle of Taiwan, something Xi Jinping apparently still desires. Xi may discover, though, as Mao did, that the ROC and Taiwan aren’t easy to destroy.

The illogical leftist mind contradicts its own ideas without a care for their destructive nature. On the one hand, the greenies want everyone to eat a plant-based diet because meat and milk from animals are evil. On the other hand, they want to eliminate commercial fertilizers and return completely to "organic" agriculture. See any problems with these two disparate goals? Fertilizer shortages are making news these days, and not just here in the USA. Of course, the shortage is being blamed on our catch-all, ubiquitous "supply chain" issues and Putin, especially since many of these products are made of components from overseas.

A high school in a Chicago is implementing a race-based grading system “to adjust classroom grading scales to account for skin color or ethnicity of its students.” The move is necessary, advocates say, because “traditional grading practices perpetuate inequities,” a slide used in a presentation said. Students, depending on their race, will not be held accountable for missing class, misbehaving in school, or for failing to turn in assignments. As we reported earlier, Michael Sussmann was found not guilty of lying to the FBI, despite the evidence that he was working for the Clinton campaign and that he told FBI General Counsel James Baker that he was not working for any client. That raised questions as to how, given the evidence, you get a not guilty verdict in this case? Now, part of the issue may have been judicial rulings that hindered Special Counsel John Durham’s case to some degree, as I noted. The other part may have been you likely started out with an unfavorable jury, to begin with, in D.C., but then, in this case, you also seemed

Washington—A federal jury on Tuesday found former Hillary Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann not guilty of lying to the FBI — finding special counsel John Durham did not prove his case beyond a reasonable doubt. The verdict by a jury in heavily Democratic-leaning DC, came midway through the second day of deliberations following a two-week trial on a single count of making false statements to a federal agent. Durham’s prosecution team unsuccessfully sought to prove that Sussmann deliberately lied to then-FBI general counsel James Baker by claiming not to be acting on behalf of the Clinton campaign and an internet executive when the two met in 2016.
