Joe Biden may be just another old white guy and will never be as cool as the first black president, but he just achieved something historic for his presidential legacy. Not only is the national average for a gallon of gas now over $4.50, but gas prices are over $4 a gallon in all 50 states. Both are historic firsts.
Gas prices reached an average of $4.52 a gallon on Tuesday, according to AAA. That’s up from $4.37 a week ago, and up from $3.05 a gallon a year ago.
Aren’t you glad Biden raided the Strategic Petroleum Reserves?

Biden has succeeded in doubling the cost of fuel in 15 months. This is a direct result of his war on fossil fuels. He has blocked production by cancelling drilling leases and approvals. He has blocked or cancelled pipelines that are the safest and most efficient method of getting oil to refiners. This has put enormous inflationary pressure on the production and transportation of all goods. Instead of claiming anybody and everybody else is responsible, he should be saying, "I did that!"

Slightly OT but the Obamas, Clintons, etc with their Secret Service protection - they're not using private vehicles, planes, etc to travel so we're paying for all of it: salaries of the agents, gas, cars, etc.

Joe is acting like the demented, financially-challenged spouse in the typical bad marriage, not allowing the fixed income of the other party to limit the purchase of boats, cars, jewelry, motorcycles, furniture, restaurant meals and other luxuries interfere with lifestyle. This behavior used to be described as "keeping up withe Joneses." Now it's called the road to bankruptcy. Our only recourse is a divorce from Joe or to orchestrate a fall down the stairs.

Lots of people are getting hammered at the gas pump, but it's the price of diesel that will really put the feces in the fan. We will see a doubling of transportation costs for truckers to deliver our goods and prices of everything will skyrocket. This will, as it always does, initiate a recession. Whether it's a mild one or a deep depression depends on how quick we can get the Democrats out of office and keep them out.

#12 puts his finger on the real problem. Increasing the cost of transportation by a huge jump due to diesel fuel prices is a huge drag on the whole economy. Those costs invade and distort all businesses.
All sorts of "economic models" (business plans) that have worked with inexpensive transportation as one of the key parts of the business plan will suddenly be less profitable or unprofitable as transportation cost increases means that factories should be closer to supplies of raw materials. Factories may need to be closer to consumers. Shorter supply lines will be more affordable.
Maybe two or four smaller regional factories will incur lower overall transportation costs and be more economically viable than one large national factory. Maybe 10 regional warehouses linked by rail will make more sense than two national warehouses linked by trucks for some companies. Seems like more train transportation will make sense, although our trains have been devolving over the last 30 years. Sudden increases in train traffic isn't simple, may not even be possible due to limited tracks that are still in operation. Lots of rail lines have been closed down. Many are beyond recovery.
All sorts of re-adjustments in the business plans of many, many companies and industries will be driven by higher transportation costs. This will take years to work through the system, and in the mean time, will waste huge amounts of money, lots of time. Businesses will be destroyed, new businesses with different approaches will be created.
It's going to be a mess for a good long while. Dems and their lunatic green energy fantasies, intentionally increasing petroleum fuel costs are literally destroying the economy. And it's intentional.
