Infants born during the pandemic aren't hitting the speech development milestones normal for babies their age, with new studies revealing they are talking less and signaling signs of future reading challenges.Researchers claim that due to COVID-19 disruptions, nearly one third of elementary students will need 'intensive support to become proficient readers.'Two other recent studies revealed that children born pandemic are also at a greater risk for academic failure because parents haven't been able to engage their babies and toddlers in the types of conversations that are 'crucial for language development'.

How can the Pandemic, reaction to which required many parents to stay home, working or not, be blamed for those same parents being unavailable to interact with their young children? I tend to agree with #3's account.

Our daughter (age 9 now) is homeschooled. She reads books (real books) every day. Rides a bike. I tach Latin to her 3 days a week. She is involved in the american Heritage Girls grou. Also each week she ins siilar homeschooled students at the local Catholic church building. The only difference for us has been the requirmeent that we wear masks when we go someplace like the hardware store. At one time I was a school board trustee ... but I learned my lesson there.

They say 1/3 of the students. That's a very large number, and the education system is NOT even remotely prepared to address this issue. In fact, it seems many are ending the school year before Memorial Day (seems pretty early) this year. But, I sense a push from the unions to increase their spending (none will end up in the classroom). They should extend every school day by 1-2 hours of instruction just to make up for this deficit of learning much of which was demanded by the very same unions.

I wonder how many kids Natasha has? This is silly. Babies are exposed to “conversation” from the day they are born. Let’s dump the researchers with those who poll and do studies. That said, let’s not shut down schools and make kids wear masks and play their band instruments in littlel pods and all that Faucian silliness.

No, it’s because of the masks, Natasha. Babies’ and toddlers’ physical and cognitive development depends on seeing a whole human face. In addition, if you make them wear a face mask, they are breathing their own toxic waste back into their system. If anything, parents had more time to engage with their children during the pandemic. Unfortunately, many did it with masks.

Overburdened parents who were home all day with the kids? How does that work? The real culprit is masks. There have been studies done which show that part of learning to speak is watching lips and that we all lip read to some extent even though we aren’t aware of doing it. The covid tsars told parents to mask up in their own houses and some of the sheeple did. That is the real reason why toddlers are speech-delayed. But the media will never tell you that.

Sussmann's defense team argued he was forthright when he acted on his own to bring information to authorities, and said the intervention did not benefit the Clinton camp in any way.
