Justice Clarence Thomas on Friday compared the leak of fellow Justice's Samuel Alito's draft opinion, which would overturn abortion protections under Roe v Wade, to 'infidelity.' Thomas, 73, said at a conference that the leak would weaken the public's trust in the Supreme Court as an institution, calling the unauthorized disclosure of deliberations 'tremendously bad.' In his remarks, the conservative justice, who has long called for overturning Roe, hinted that a liberal clerk may have leaked Alito's draft opinion, and lamented that partisan rancor has grown more entrenched on the high court.

Get rid of all the clerks. Get back to the Justices doing their own work and writing their own opinions.

I called it. The newbie's clerk leaked it. It's got to be a liberal clerk (an angry alphabet female) who wishes to climb the ladder rapidly. Or else be a Paul Revere to the crazed activists.

That response needs to be clarified. Breyer is still on the court and it’s my understanding that the announced candidate does not have access to the Court’s business.

Finding the leaker shouldn't be that difficult and the sob needs a prison term.

We have been told that the leaker would be identified in a few days. What's going on over at the SC with this investigation? Of course, they want to be certain and not jump the gun, but this delay seems more and more suspicious. I don't trust Chief Justice Roberts regarding this investigation.

If The Supreme Court goes so does the rest of The Constitution. What would replace them? Facebook likes? I've always like the parliamentary form of government where if a party or leaders have lost the confidence of the public they can request a new election. Quid Pro Joe would be gone.

"and lamented that partisan rancor has grown more entrenched on the high court."
I have no doubt of this whatsoever. Compare the quality of the appointees on each side.

The virulent, violent left would be pleased to destroy the courts. The Constitution is just a stumbling block to them, making their consolidation of their totalitarian rule more difficult.

#6, what good are elections if they are rigged? If we have not secured our election process, it won’t matter who we vote for, the decision will already have been made. I have little confidence in the election coming up in November. Democrats have come too far to let something like election fraud stop them. Look at all they control, the media, law enforcement, the military, and most of the judiciary. Who is going to stop them? We can’t even prevent them from throwing open our borders to the world with unvetted illegal aliens. They a have trashed our sovereignty and it’s like that never happened.

How could partisan rancor not get worse on the Supreme Court when you have 2 Bull Dykes and a racist black woman there.

I can't remember any sexual assault allegations lodged against Thomas during his confirmation hearings( mismanaged by the Delaware Dunce.)
Anita Hill came forward and said she overheard Thomas, while head of the EEOC, relate the contents of a porn video to a a male staffer. She said it was sexual harassment. She also said Thomas asked her out on a date more than once, and that was sexual harassment. And she said Thomas once said, 'who put a pubic hair on my diet coke can,' and that was sexual harassment.
One other woman came forward, but had zero credibility.
And I find it really ironic when Dollar Bill Clinton was defended by feminists just a few years later, arguing that he had a consensual relationship with Monica Lewinsky, and did nothing wrong.

I expected the leaker to be found by now. Guess we will never know and be fed some made up story about a hacked account.

The leaker's name will be leaked. It will happen. Someone from the FBI will make sure of that. One hint, look for someone that leaves the court suddenly. If this person does not get jail time, then the system is broken.

I am quite sure they know who did it by now, but are trying to figure out what to do about it.
I had assumed they just told the juicy tidbit; I had no idea they release 100 pages.
I didn't catch any "dig at recent appointees" in that article.

The leadership of the country is a fraud dismantling everything it touches, the FBI/CIA are corrupt, the military is laughingstock joke, so the Supreme Court is on the brink or already gone. The liberals destroyed the country, what to do? I've thrown up my hands as one person when elections and my vote doesn't even matter when it's predetermined who wins. This is Soviet Russia we are living. We can't keep saying we will win or 'get them' in the next election it's a pipe dream the RINOs are just as bad so what's the answer now? God Bless America the land that I love.

Justice Thomas, I share your alarm. But in the bigger picture, I am more worried about the future of the United States of America, as founded.

And by the way, Justice Thomas. Assuming that it was a clerk who leaked the draft opinion, you and the other Justices should consider firing all of your clerks and staff and replace all of them - unless the leaker steps forward. Even if the leaker steps forward, good chance that he/she/it will become a mid-term election mouthpiece for the dims.

Ironic...just as a new justice is appointed...the leak happens...Justice Roberts must prove his worthiness to Americans by appointing a crusader that will investigate and find our who is guilty...until that time...I...for one...will not trust the supremes...especially justice Roberts...

If the "final" decision does not reflect the "draft" decision and any SCOTUS Justice switched their original intention to vote a certain way then we are truly doomed. The Supreme Court will not be so supreme as it can be swayed by a small mob.
Expect more leaks and more changed votes! Roberts should have demanded the Justices take an immediate and final vote and released it by now. The longer the delay the more likely a switch.
PS: I think they know who leaked it and it may have come directly from a Justice and not a clerk. Thus --- what do you do when that happens? After Breyer leaves in September, he might admit he did it.

democrats and the American left are a cancer on the United States of America. The party must be destroyed so it can never, ever rear its ugly head again. It has been a blight on America since its slave trader and slave holder days. The democrat party is the reason we fought a bloody and catastrophic Civil War. Havoc abounds where ever this party is. The Klan, Jim Crow, abortion, infanticide; the democrat party's history is deep, divisive, destructive and evil. But, with our now ensconced two tier system of justice, the clerk or judge, whomever leaked this draft opinion, just like the Struck, Stroke, Comey, Clinton, the rest of the FBI Klan, the protesters outside of the supremes' homes, all will get away with their crimes, while people just walking the Capitol grounds on January 6, 2020 have been indicted, arrested and jailed.
And this lawlessness will continue unabated. Dittos to Ldotter #9. Look for the 2022 election to be stolen just as the 2020 election was. democrats are too full of their successes of the last 481 days of the installed Biden administration, to give up now. They are dug in, mean and will continue their destructive ways "by any means necessary."

The federal judiciary should become extinct. Un-elected, un-accountable tyrants. Any institution that is infested with liberals should be a candidate for elimination.
