At least eight people were shot, two of them fatally, outside a Chicago McDonald’s Thursday night about 10:40 p.m.
The Chicago Sun-Times reports eight people shot, two killed, and ABC 7 reports nine people were shot, two fatally.
Two groups of individuals were fighting at the restaurant “in the 800-block of North State Street” when an individual in one of the groups pulled a gun and began shooting.
The gunman fled down steps to a subway platform after firing the shots and the group that was with him ran down the steps as well.
Two adult men were killed when the bullets began to fly.

The footage shows a man on a dirt bike wearing an orange helmet, whom the sheriff’s office has identified as Barreto, fleeing from a patrol vehicle at a high rate of speed in Osceola County.

That which cannot be said
The Senate Interior Committee held a hearing yesterday to examine the Biden administration’s fiscal year 2023 budget request for the Department of the Interior. The committee has posted video of the hearing here.
The hearing presented an opportune moment for Interior Secretary Deborah Haaland to let her light shine and she did not disappoint. In the clip below Secretary Haaland avoids answering the question whether gas prices are too high.
Staff anxiously placed notes in front of Haaland with the all-purpose answer to brain teasers seeking to elicit that which

“In wake of the racist act of terror in Buffalo, New York will lead the charge to confront this epidemic head-on,” she added: /snip for Tweet/ One of the governor’s executive orders instructs the State Police to establish a “dedicated unit within the New York State Intelligence

So, is it real now, guys? The Left has regarded the baby formula shortage crisis as a Fox News invention. It’s not a real problem in the minds of liberal America who are nestled in their coastal and urban strongholds. That’s not shocking coming from the camp that despises motherhood and raising families. For one Biden cabinet secretary, the crisis has hit close to home. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg admitted he can’t find baby formula for his twin kids. Buttigieg took paternity leave while the nation has become engulfed in a supply chain crisis (via NY Post):

Pallets of baby formula are being sent to holding facilities at the border amid a shortage that has seen many parents unable to find it at their local stores, according to a GOP representative.
"They are sending pallets, pallets of baby formula to the border," Rep. Kat Cammack, R-Fla., said in a video posted to Facebook Wednesday. "Meanwhile, in our own district at home, we cannot find baby formula."
Cammack posted pictures to social media of empty formula shelves in Florida next to the pallets of food being sent to the border, saying in the video that a concerned border patrol agent sent her the image. She said the picture comes

Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) is investigating the CDC for tracking million of American through phone location data.
“Just because data exists, doesn’t mean that the government should be using it to track Americans, I would think that that really raises some very serious constitutional issues,” Senator Ron Johnson told John Solomon on “Just the News – Not Noise.”
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention used phone location data to track millions Americans in 2021.
The CDC monitored curfew zones, churches, schools, neighbor-to-neighbor visits and trips to pharmacies through SafeGraph, a controversial data broker. The CDC purchased the phone data and used Covid-19 as an excuse to buy the data more quickly

New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D) made tackling crime a central plank of his successful election campaign last November. A poll released Wednesday shows his inability to deliver is being punished by disillusioned voters.
A survey by Quinnipiac University shows crime is the top concern of 49 percent of city voters — more than triple the 15 percent of respondents who cited affordable housing and 12 percent homelessness.
However just 37 percent of city residents approved of Adams’s performance on crime, compared to 54 percent who disapproved. This is a reversal from the 49 percent who approved and 35 percent who disapproved in a survey as recently as last February.

King Ranch is so iconic that it gets regular nods from the television hit “Yellowstone.”
“Look at the King Ranch down in Texas …” patriarch John Dutton says in one episode. “They made such a name for themselves you can buy a damn truck with their brand on the seat.”
And that’s true; the King Ranch line of Ford trucks are some of the company’s best sellers. The Running W brand lends Western authenticity to any number of products.
But King Ranch is in trouble, and it’s not from drought or cattle prices. The sprawling South Texas ranch is being overrun with migrants traveling up from the U.S. border to Dallas, Houston, San

When Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas recently unveiled his “six pillar plan” for dealing with the crisis on our southern border, he certainly didn’t mention this truly awful idea. During his recent testimony before Congress, Mayorkas slipped in one option that Joe Biden is reportedly considering. In order to provide better care for the tens of thousands of illegal aliens streaming across the border, the White House is looking at the possibility of diverting funding from the Veterans Administration for that situation. Additionally, some of the doctors and nurses tasked with caring for our veterans could be reassigned to providing care for the illegals.
