Putin says Russia fighting for motherland
in Ukraine in Victory Day speech

Original Article

Despite rumours he would make a major announcement his speech stuck largely to defending Russia's invasion. He tied the war in Ukraine to victory in 1945, blaming the West and Nato for rejecting security demands. Almost 10 weeks into the invasion, civilian casualties continue to mount. Some 60 civilians are feared dead in the eastern town of Bilohorivka, after a Russian attack on a school where people were trying to escape bombardment. Flanked by military top brass, Russia's leader spoke of Ukrainians as fascists, repeating his false claim that the democratic government in Kyiv was run by neo-Nazis.

They probably are. Nato expansion doesn’t mean nato wants less. We didn’t like it when the Russians wanted to put weapons in cuba. Bidet wants regime change, and I doubt that idea started with the Russian invasion- it probably started with the desire to expand nato. Maybe bidet could make a compelling speech as to why nuclear war would be worth it to us citizens. Of course he wants new, more malleable citizens who don’t need any explanations- desperate people would be his first choice (maybe we’ll all be desperate soon). And not a speech of cliches that “putin’s a thug, a war criminal, preserve democracy” or any of the other knee jerk cliches. And include an accounting of the looting the bidet family did in Ukraine.

Putin's motherland, Ukraine and even Moscow used to belong to Poland, before Russia took it in 1725.

History shows that the different tribes of essentially Slavs have been fighting over those lands for many hundreds of years off and on. By pushing on into Eastern Europe and in some places up to the Russian border, NATO has angered Russia who considers the areas near their borders to be their near abroad and strategic area of influence. The Biden covert politburo has aggravated tension between Ukraine and Russia by encouraging Ukraine to join NATO, that would in the future facilitate NATO troops being stationed along the Ukraine-Russia border a few hundred miles from Moscow. Even though it was not right in anyway for Russia to militarily invade Ukraine that killed large numbers of civilians and military members, and wreaked much of Eastern Ukraine, that’s one of the major reasons that Russia invaded Ukraine. Sometime in the future, after the fighting stops with an agreement between Ukraine and Russia, look for Biden to show up in Ukraine claiming that he, as the great leader of the free world, was the most instrumental in causing what will be called the great victory for Ukraine, and will announce that he intends to send many billions of US dollars to Ukraine, that is known to be a corrupt place, to rebuild that country. Then who will follow all that US taxpayers money, surely not the wimpy establishment Republicans?

Too bad Putin's intellect is not developed enough to notice that almost all of his former Warsaw Pact ''allies'' want nothing to do with him or russia. The west did not have to invade, threaten, or force them to join NATO, they requested membership. Their seeking NATO membership was done to avoid what happened to Ukraine. For some strange reason, millions of Ukrainians preferred to flee their homes in the middle of winter carrying their meager belongings, rather than experiencing the privilege of living under Mr. Putin's ''leadership'' or russian occupation. Russia under Putin is a stunted, paranoid, dark, sinister, evil threat to the world. His claim that the EU and NATO pose a threat to russia is delusional. The free countries of Europe have been too busy building useful products to sell to each other, while russia remains a backwards kleptocracy that contains nothing that would make it worth invading.

"Fighting for the motherland".....by invading another country. Yeah, like they were "fighting for the motherland" when they invaded Georgia, and Crimea, and eastern Ukraine. BS. Putin is angry that the escaped slave state, which he and many other Russians have felt a literal ownership of for centuries, needs to be recaptured and made into a slave again. Runaway slaves must be recaptured. The Soviet Union's glory much be recaptured. Putin is a megalomaniacal thug. He was not attacked, he is "defending" only his dreams of conquest.

Elon Musk said he would reverse Twitter’s ban on former President Donald Trump once he officially takes over the social media platform. The Tesla tycoon, whose $44 billion takeover bid was accepted by Twitter’s board of directors last month, made the comment Tuesday during an interview with Financial Times.“Permanent bans should be extremely rare and really reserved for accounts that are bots, or scam, spam accounts … I do think it was not correct to ban Donald Trump,” Musk said. “I think that was a mistake, because it alienated a large part of the country and did not ultimately result in Donald Trump not having a voice.” “I would reverse the permanent ban,”

Remember when denying the legitimacy of any election was not only disqualifying but also got you kicked off Jake Tapper’s low-rated CNN show? I wonder if that rule will hold for Karine Jean-Pierre, who is set to take over as Joe Biden’s press secretary on May 13th. I think we all know the answer to that. Apparently, Jean-Pierre has a colorful history on social media, and now some of her old tweets are painting a far different picture than the one she’s tried to present since joining the White House. Far from the level-headed, straight shooter that she wants people to believe she is, Jean-Pierre is apparently a conspiratorial lunatic .I’m literally shaking

Joe Biden, the man who has been "wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades," as former defense secretary Bob Gates wrote, has nebulously put the U.S. on a path to war with Russia. Not because he wants to. But because he doesn't know what he's doing. That's the consensus of foreign policy experts as diverse as Thomas Friedman, golf buddy to President Obama, and Mark Wauck, the decorated former FBI official from its pre-wokedom era. According to Friedman, writing on May 6: If you just followed news reports on Ukraine, you might think that the war has settled into a long, grinding and somewhat boring slog

The national average price for regular gasoline reached a new record-high on Tuesday, according to AAA. The new high — $4.37 a gallon — breaks the previous record of $4.33 set on March 11. Gas prices jumped 5 cents overnight and a whopping 17 cents in the past week, CNN reported. California, Nevada and Hawaii have all reached an average of more than $5 per gallon. Diesel fuel also set an all-time record on Tuesday of $5.50 a gallon. “With the cost of oil accounting for more than half of the pump price, more expensive oil means more expensive gasoline,” AAA spokesperson Andrew Gross said. “These prices are creeping closer

Pro-abortion protesters were harassing pro-life people trying to protect Old St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City. We reported on some of this on Saturday, when someone who goes by the name “Crackhead Barney” play-acted having an abortion in front of the church and yelled, “I’m killing the babies” and “God killed his son, why can’t I?” As pro-life people prayed the Rosary, she conducted a vile display while the pro-abortion people screamed obscene things at the pro-life people. The radical leftists didn’t seem to see anything wrong with what they were doing, as they cursed out the people who were praying. But they lost it later,

The New York Times is looking to add to its list of 132 Pulitzer Prizes — by far the most of any news organization — when the 2022 recipients for journalism are announced on Monday. Yet the war in Ukraine has renewed questions of whether the Times should return a Pulitzer awarded 90 years ago for work by Walter Duranty, its charismatic chief correspondent in the Soviet Union. "He is the personification of evil in journalism," says Oksana Piaseckyj, a Ukrainian-American activist who came to the U.S. as a child refugee in 1950. She is among the advocates for the return of the award. "We think he was like

In Sri Lanka, the government mandated organic farming, with the result that yields declined catastrophically, prices skyrocketed, and, no doubt, many died.
