Finland's top prosecutor announced Friday she will appeal a unanimous court decision rejecting her allegations of “hate speech” against a Christian politician for quoting the Bible on Twitter. This means Member of Parliament Paivi Rasanen, who has already spent three years being investigated, interrogated, and prosecuted by her government, must now keep fighting in court so that Christianity stays legal in Finland, and possibly all of Europe. “The prosecutor’s decision to appeal the acquittal verdict may lead to the case going all the way to the Supreme Court, giving the possibility of securing precedent protecting freedom of speech and religion for all Finnish people.

Of all the Nordic countries, Finland is the most socially conservative; although the state Lutheran church has fallen into apostasy. It shows how quickly things can change in a country.

If Christian views are banned, then what about ither religions? Islam is more hateful and dangerous but I don't hear that mentioned in the article. They can pick and choose quotes and teachings from every religion and call it exclusionary and hateful. Does the Finnish prosecutor want to ban them all?

#3~ The entirety of Finns has not succumbed into apostasy. “The Finns have suffered defrocking by the state church, exclusion from all state church buildings, and now the state is prosecuting Bishop Pohjola and a member of the parliament, Dr. Päivi Räsänen.” At this time the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod (LCMS) is in fellowship with the new bishop of the Mission Diocese of Finland, The Reverend Doctor Bishop Juhana Pohjola (Bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Mission Diocese of Finland - ELMDF.) #5,#8,#13~ The name of Finland’s current Prosecutor General is Raija Toiviainen. In an article published in the Helsinki Times, she was accused of abusing human rights by ten United States professors. https://www.helsinkitimes.fi/finland/finland-news/domestic/19324-finland-s-prosecutor-general-abusing-human-rights-by-charging-raesaenen-claim-us-professors.html Finland’s Prosecutor General abusing human rights by charging Räsänen, claim US professors (6-1-21) TEN PROFESSORS from the United States have issued an open letter to the US Commission on International Religious Freedom questioning the prosecution of Päivi Räsänen, a former chairperson of the Christian Democrats, and Juhana Pohjola, the Bishop-elect of the Evangelical Lutheran Mission of Diocese of Finland. “These prosecutions constitute serious human rights abuses,” they argued, referring to the ethnic agitation charges brought against the duo by Prosecutor General Raija Toiviainen. ~~~ Although the deliberate and unwarranted persecution of Doctor Päivi Räsänen the Reverend Doctor Bishop Juhana Pohjola is infuriating, God works in mysterious ways, but always to the good of His will. May we keep these brave servants of God in prayer. “The steps of a man are established by the LORD, when he delights in his way;” (Psalm 37:23) “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.” (Proverbs 3:5)

White House press secretary Jen Psaki was asked aboard Air Force One by a reporter on Tuesday whether President Joe Biden intended to codify Roe vs. Wade into law and she bluntly pointed out that even without the filibuster, there just weren’t enough votes to pass a federal abortion law. Psaki was en route to Alabama when she was quizzed over Roe vs. Wade. That occurred not too long after Biden made comments on the leaked draft opinion by the Supreme Court that was given to Politico, indicating it would overturn the landmark abortion case.
