President Biden on Monday mixed up his job title, telling a crowd at the White House that he was the nation’s first senator from Delaware when he meant to say president.
Biden, who turns 80 this year, is the oldest-ever US president and Republican critics routinely accuse him of being in mental decline, citing gaffes and instances where he appears to lose his train of thought.
“There have not been many of the senators from Delaware. It’s a small state. As a matter of fact, there has never been one.

An immigrant drowned while trying to cross the Rio Grande near the spot where a Texas National Guardsman drowned last month — and this time guard members were unable to attempt a rescue, according to FOX News.
A video of the incident shows two Nicaraguan men calling out for help as they struggled in the waters near Eagle Pass, where Spc. Bishop Evans died on April 22 while trying to save a pair of migrants who had also gotten trapped in the water.

Yes, we know it’s only been three weeks since the last time President Biden was honored as the week’s top knucklehead, but what is our KOTW Committee supposed to do? The man just can’t help himself, and we just cannot ignore his buffoonery. After a thorough tongue-lashing from our Department of Redundancy Department and following only a brief internal debate arguing for the candidacies of other knuckleheads, the decision is in and the voting wasn’t even close. Our esteemed Commander-in-Chief is, once again, this week’s honoree.
Winner: President Biden’s cluelessness and criminality were on full display this week,

The Biden Justice Department is finally acknowledging the war on cops: FBI Director Christopher Wray denounced the 59% increase in cop murders in 2021.
An officer is murdered nearly once every five days, yet violence against law enforcement “doesn’t get enough attention,” Wray said Sunday on CBS’s “60 Minutes.”
That is an understatement. Wray’s bosses — Attorney General Merrick Garland and President Joe Biden — have instead focused almost exclusively on alleged white-supremacist criminality

New footage of Vladimir Putin appearing unsteady, fidgeting and biting his lips during an Orthodox Easter service in Moscow on Sunday has added to suspicions that the Russian leader is seriously ill.
The frail-looking strongman is seen swaying during the Mass conducted by the Russian Orthodox Church, which has strongly backed its leader’s so-called “special military operation” in Ukraine.
Putin, 69 — dressed in a dark blue suit, a white shirt and dark purple tie — holds a red candle as he stands in Moscow’s Christ the Savior Cathedral alongside Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.

It was a tumultuous news cycle this week, with scores of candidates to choose from for the week’s top knucklehead. Our Commander-in-Chief allowed himself to be manhandled by the Easter Bunny, and his lady in waiting, Vice-President Kamala Harris, waxed poetic about how exciting space is. Yet neither of those options even receive an honorable mention this week. Ultimately, we could not ignore the imbecilic decision of former Fox News host Chris Wallace, whose defection to CNN has been looking worse with every passing day. This week’s announcement that CNN+ is closing its doors less than a month after they opened sealed the deal for Wallace.

Much has been made about the dire prospects for the Democratic Party in November. Mid-term elections almost always see an electoral erosion for the party in power, and when that party’s president is struggling with opinion polls, the consequences can be severe. For the Democrats, President Joe Biden has somehow managed to reach historically low approval ratings, and leftwing political prognosticators are undoubtedly feeling nauseated as they read the tea leaves.
But what about the next presidential election cycle? What about 2024? Does the future look any brighter for Democrats? It may be a long way off but consider this fact:

Remember this MSNBC segment on online harassment? MSNBC aired it less than two weeks ago. Washington Post tech reporter Taylor Lorenz claimed to have “severe PTSD” over online bullying and doxxing, which she claimed was aimed at her primarily because of her gender. Lorenz’ critics instead pointed to her long track record of targeting people for doxxing and generating cancel campaigns based on her biases and occasionally dishonest reporting:
“You feel like any little piece of information that gets out on you will be used by the worst people on the Internet to destroy your life,” Lorenz said while choking back tears, “and it’s so isolating.”

Russia’s ambassador to Washington admitted in a recent interview that he hasn’t spoken with Vladimir Putin since being appointed to the post in 2017 — not even during the invasion of Ukraine — but denied this meant he was out of favor in the Kremlin.
The envoy, Anatoly Antonov, shrugged off the lack of communication with the Russian leader, claiming to Politico in an interview published Monday that he is in constant contact with senior officials in Moscow and other government agencies.
“We have a different system,” Antonov told the outlet.

We first heard of this story in late January. A New Mexico woman named Alexis Avila had just given birth to a baby boy. Allegedly, she then placed the baby into a garbage bag and “tossed” the bag into a dumpster, an incident that was caught on video and widely viewed across the country. It was heartbreaking to watch.
Once discovered by passersby, the infant was taken via helicopter to a nearby hospital where he was treated for severe hypothermia. During a subsequent hearing, prosecutors stated:
“In my 27 years of doing this, I have never seen anyone, child or adult, have a temperature that was not read with a digital thermometer.”

The city’s beleaguered subway riders were reeling Tuesday after the mass shooting on a Brooklyn train — with some saying the latest horrific crime has convinced them to quit the transit system for good.
“I’m done. I’m done with riding the train. It’s just not worth it,” 29-year-old finance worker Shirley Shao said while waiting for a train at Canal Street in Tribeca, Manhattan.
“Every time I go in there, I worry in the back of my mind of someone attacking me while my back is turned,” she said of the underground system.

Most elected Democrats seemed to have gotten the memo back in February that continued COVID restrictions were politically untenable moving forward, so a new normal was abruptly declared. People who'd inveighed against Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin's sensible school masking policy in Virginia just days earlier suddenly decided the time had come to move toward similar or identical policies elsewhere. Hell, even Doctor Anthony Fauci is starting to sound like something of a libertarian on these matters these days:
Dr. Anthony Fauci, chief medical adviser to the White House, said Americans should continue assessing risk for themselves as COVID-19 cases tick up.
Comments:
He's a complete mess.
