Two days after Elon Musk’s $44 billion bid to take Twitter private was accepted by the board, Musk tweeted out in jest, “Next I’m buying Coca-Cola to put the cocaine back in.”
Musk then sent out another picture of a fake tweet written by him, which read “Now I’m going to buy McDonald’s and fix all of the ice cream machines,” captioning the image with “Listen, I can’t do miracles ok.”
After pledging $21 billion in equity and raising $25.5 billion of debt and margin loan financing, Musk has continued to use Twitter to buff his image as a brash billionaire who is not afraid to break the rules

The White House began this week with a modest goal for resuscitating its domestic agenda: Get Joe Manchin to the negotiating table.
So far, the seats are empty. With the clock ticking on their hopes of clinching a major climate and deficit reduction deal before Memorial Day, Democratic leaders are again struggling to make progress — stymied by a lack of clear direction or an understanding of what both Manchin and Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.), their two biggest obstacles, are prepared to support.
“The White House is hamstrung by the Venn diagram of Manchin and Sinema asks,” said a person familiar with Manchin and White House dynamics.

A timely ruling today out of New York has solidified GOP redistricting gains after the state’s appeals court sided with Republicans to strike down a Democrat gerrymander that ignored state law.
I say timely, because just hours before this piece, I published an article noting that the GOP had turned the tables after months of Democrat celebration regarding redistricting. Contrary to earlier proclamations that Democrats had gained 5-6 seats in the process, Republicans have essentially won the war.
Still, as I mentioned, there was one last battle going on in the form of this appeal out of New York, which was happening after another ruling in late March put Republicans back

After Musk’s blockbuster deal to buy Twitter, the next obvious question was “What happens next?” Was Musk going to come in and completely clean house, kicking out all the woke staffers and leftwing leadership? Or was he going to take a more hands-off approach to the transition, allowing some of the worst offenders to remain in their roles? I think we are starting to get an answer to that.
In the last 24 hours, Musk has offered criticism of Vijaya Gadde, who is currently the top lawyer and head of the content moderation division at Twitter. She was responsible for not only banning Donald Trump but also censoring

A Delaware court ruled in favor of defendant Elon Musk on Wednesday in a shareholder lawsuit over Tesla's $2.6 billion acquisition of SolarCity.
Tesla shareholders alleged the company's acquisition of the solar installer amounted to a bailout, pushed through by Musk who sat on both company boards at the time. The shareholders also alleged that Musk controlled the board of Tesla, even though he appeared to recuse himself from some deal negotiations concerning SolarCity.
Had he lost, Musk could have had to pay upwards of $2 billion. The matter could be appealed to the Delaware Supreme Court.

FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr rejected calls from a leftist think tank to intervene in Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter, calling the organization’s concerns “frivolous.”
Yesterday, the leftist-run Open Markets Institute released a press release calling on the FCC, FTC, and DOJ to block the Twitter purchase in the name of “neutrality,” and said Musk’s takeover “poses a number of immediate and direct threats to American democracy and free speech.” The Open Markets Institute did not attempt to explain its doublespeak claim that Musk, who has promised to restore free speech to Twitter after years of leftist-led censorship, represents a threat to free speech.

Elon Musk was accused of misogyny by a Twitter executive Tuesday after two of her female executives at Twitter were singled out for criticism from the new owner of the company and his supporters.
Lara Cohen, Twitter's global head of partners, reacted with anger to Musk and his followers' attacks on singling out of the firm's top lawyer Vijaya Gadde, and chief marketing officer Leslie Berland.
'Color me shocked SHOCKED that people are coming for two of our prominent female executives on day 1 of this thing,' she tweeted. Musk himself took aim at Twitter's top lawyer, Vijaya Gadde, for censoring stories about Hunter Biden's laptop

Elon Musk used his Twitter account to amplify criticism of two company executives made by right-wing activists soon after agreeing a deal to buy the platform.
Musk on Tuesday responded to a tweet by Saagar Enjeti, a conservative podcast host, who shared a Politico story about Vijaya Gadde.
Gadde is the most senior executive responsible for implementing Twitter's user rules, and according to the report broke down in tears in a meeting discussing Musk's takeover of the company.
"Vijaya Gadde, the top censorship advocate at Twitter who famously gaslit the world on Joe Rogan's podcast and censored the Hunter Biden laptop story, is very upset about the Elon Musk takeover,"

It has taken him weeks to get to this point but German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has finally reversed course on sending heavy weapons to Ukraine.
Under pressure both at home and abroad for his dithering over Ukraine, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz reversed course and finally agreed to supply heavy arms to aid in the country’s defense against Russia.
The agreement to deliver antiaircraft tanks to Kyiv was announced on Tuesday in conjunction with a summit meeting among Western nations held at the U.S. Air Force Base in Ramstein, Germany. One of the reasons many Republican and independent voters alike are so attracted to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is his propensity to go bottom-line and say exactly what he thinks when he thinks it, in common-sense, everyday language, with zero sugar-coating tossed in to soften his message.
Desantis’s recent comments about San Francisco provide a perfect example.
During a discussion with supporters on Monday, the popular governor addressed concerns about whether new Florida residents from Democratic states could change the political demographics of the Sunshine State. As reported by The Washington Examiner, DeSantis assured the gathering that Florida has actually seen a greater surge in Republican voters than Democrat voters.

Twitter users want to find out why it appears as if right-wing users are experiencing a surge in new followers while left-wing users are seeing the opposite.
In a thread on Tuesday, software developer Christopher Bouzy shared statistics suggesting that users had either lost or gained followers based on their political leanings.
“Over the past 24 hours, Democrats have experienced a significant decrease in followers, while Republicans have experienced a significant increase in followers,” Bouzy wrote. Bouzy specifically highlighted data from high-profile accounts such as former President Barack Obama, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), and Sen. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).
The four left-wing figures all lost
