A source with knowledge of the conversation confirmed to Fox News Digital that the Republican leader and the former president spoke on the phone after the audio was leaked. Fake controversy. So what if McCarthy asked Trump to resign, a lot of people were doing that at the time and not all of them were Lincoln Project perverts. Trump didn't, and that was the right way to respond, so not an issue. It's not like McCarthy screamed about it when he didn't. Fake, fake, fake controversy.

There is more that is unsaid. Trump will not forget or forgive. For the moment, McCarthy/McConnell are on the back burner. Trump knows the importance of getting the house/senate switched to republican. Then the next step will be the removal of these two clowns.

I'd like to think that after his 4 years in office, spent fighting dems, RINO's and back-stabbing deep state Republicans, PDT has a better grasp of who you can trust. Keep your enemies close, as the saying goes! Unfortunately, it looks like there is no one in DC that he can trust!

Funny how the people comfortable attacking private businesses hate when DeSantis uses their playbook. The current issue du semaine involves the state of Florida passing legislation to strip the Walt Disney Company of the special governmental set-asides it has enjoyed for generations. There are valid positions to be made on both sides of this issue. Initially, I have some reservations about this; it is not an automatic comfort with the direct action being taken in this kind of swift manner, but the more I reflect on the matter, it seems to be a case approaching inevitability. On the left, we see many taking the side that this is a direct violation of free speech

A wave election is on the horizon and the only question is just how strong of a wave it will be. Will it be a traditional kind of victory for Republicans as the minority party typically picks up seats in midterm elections? Or will it be a red tsunami brought about because of deep disapproval of the Biden administration? Either outcome will result in Republicans taking back control of the House and very well may flip the Senate, too. The White House is girding its loins in preparation of the consequences GOP victories will bring. A top concern for the White House is the new investigations that will be opened up.

When the Finnish Reservists’ Assn. recently announced wartime defense courses for civilian women in the southern town of Haemeenlinna, the 400 slots filled almost immediately, with a waiting list of 500 more. Topics will include shooting, cybersecurity and how to manage the first several days of an invasion from abroad. “I wouldn’t call it fear,” said Sgt. Twitter could be becoming more receptive to a takeover bid from Elon Musk after the billionaire disclosed he has secured $46.5 billion in financing, The Wall Street Journal reported Sunday. The social media company had been expected to shoot down the offer and had adopted a so-called poison pill to fend off a potential hostile takeover. But executives are now re-examining the bid and are more likely than before to try and negotiate, the paper said, citing people familiar with the matter. The situation is fast-moving, but the two sides are meeting on Sunday to discuss Musk's $43 billion proposal, the Journal reported.

Most Americans identify the economy as the top issue in determining how they will vote in the future election, a Redfield & Wilton Strategies survey released this week found. While President Biden continues to struggle with souring approval ratings across the board — a trend that has plagued his presidency — 58 percent of eligible U.S. voters say the economy is the top issue that will determine how they vote in the November 8, 2022 midterm election. No other issue came close, as 32 percent said “healthcare” will likely determine their vote, followed by immigration (28 percent), government spending (23 percent), the coronavirus pandemic (23 percent) and abortion (20 percent).

Very few parts of Russian society have drawn more interest than the so-called “oligarchs.” These are incredibly wealthy men with political connections to Putin’s inner circle because, in the totalitarian kleptocracy that is Russia under Vladimir Putin, if you don’t have political ties to Putin’s inner circle, wealth doesn’t bring you power; it brings you a one-way trip to a Siberian labor camp. The first generation of Russian oligarchs emerged from the 1991 collapse of the Soviet Union, whose state control over the economy began to loosen under Mikhail Gorbachev’s perestroika, or restructuring reforms. (snip) poor Depp is also the perfect star stereotype: Horrible childhood, limited education, substance abuse, and sexually perverse relationships. On-screen, he’s in control, even if his character is not; off-screen, he married a woman who was famously crazy and vicious and then suffered horribly at her hands because he’s weak and lacks internal resources.
