The gloat fest over CNN+ becoming the sinking Titanic of leftist media continued for a second day on Friday as Fox News hosts Greg Gutfeld and Tucker Carlson skewered former Fox anchor Chris Wallace for jumping ship to the new streaming network only to find himself out of a job, at least temporarily. Gutfeld has been on a tear, gleefully mocking Wallace at every opportunity for quitting Fox News. Wallace reportedly left because he didn’t like the opinions of other hosts on the network.Carlson appeared on “The Five” to promote an upcoming episode from his “Originals” series and was drawn into mocking Wallace by Gutfeld.

In the long run this may be to Fox’s detriment. In the unlikely event that CNN’s new management fires the left wing gas lighters and becomes a real news outlet they could in that case become a real competitor to Fox. We will see.

Six people were killed, a man was critically wounded in a police-involved shooting and 31 others were shot across Chicago this weekend, marking the city’s most devastating toll so far this year as temperatures rose ahead of the typically violent summer months.Just last week, Chicago Police Supt. David Brown touted encouraging drops in homicides and shootings as the department pushes to tamp down the surging violent crime that has become a serious political liability for Mayor Lori Lightfoot. In January, just days after Chicago closed the books on its deadliest year in a quarter-century, Lightfoot declared 2022 a “make-or-break year” for doing just that.

Over the last 16 tortuous months of the Biden presidency, it’s become clear that the Democrats are running on empty. They are not even trying to reset their electorally poisonous policies.Politically this means they are heading for annihilation at the midterms. Yet they appear curiously relaxed, as if winning elections is no longer a priority. One thing you know is that the Dems are not hiding under the duvet sucking their thumbs. Like the Fantastic Mr. Fox, they have a cunning plan. They might not be any good at governing, but when it comes to seizing power by foul means or fair, they are world-class.

The headlines I’ve seen tell me that it’s incredibly sordid (snip) it seems worthwhile pointing out that Hollywood is a deeply dysfunctional place that has way too much sway over our culture and, worse, over our children. (snip) poor Depp is also the perfect star stereotype: Horrible childhood, limited education, substance abuse, and sexually perverse relationships. On-screen, he’s in control, even if his character is not; off-screen, he married a woman who was famously crazy and vicious and then suffered horribly at her hands because he’s weak and lacks internal resources.
