Florida Democrats reportedly erupted Thursday on the House floor as they were powerless to stop the Republican-led body from passing a new congressional map that is expected to yield favorable results for the GOP. There are currently 16 Republicans and 11 Democrats representing Florida in the U.S. House of Representatives and the new map, which also adds an additional district, increases Republicans’ dominance in the state to what will likely amount to a 20-8 margin over the Democrats. The new map effectively targets seats held by Rep. Al Lawson (D-FL), Rep. Charlie Crist (D-FL), Rep. Stephanie Murphy (D-FL), and potentially Rep. Val Demings (D-FL).

NY lost a seat and Gerrymandered a loss of 3 Republican Seats and a gain of 3 Democrat Seats. Illinois lost a seat and Gerrymandered a loss of 2 Republican Seats and a gain of 2 Democrat Seats. Michigan lost a seat and Gerrymandered a loss of 2 Republican Seats. NC is a R+3 state overall, they gained a seat... Democrats Gerrymandered a loss of one Republican Seat gain of one Democrat. As for Florida, cry me a river!

When things go their way democrats take on a mean adolescent mental age. When democrats lose they revert to an age 7 emotionally disturbed demeanor.

From what I have heard, the map originally produced by the legislature was the typical product of a committee, a tortured mess that would have been subject to legal challenges. DeSantis vetoed it on that basis. He then submitted the current map which is MUCH stronger against legal challenges and oh, BTW is much more favorable to Republicans.
Florida dems are whining that the most proper, most legal solution doesn't give them an advantage. WHY am I not surprised?

They cackle when they pass late abortion laws and heehaw when they don’t get their way. Liberalism is a disease! There is real leadership coming from the conservative states! DC is still a uni-party. Drain the swamp!

It would have made my day to see someone dragging the screaming banshees out of there. Who told these people they were so right and everybody else is so wrong? Why do they think they're supposed to upend the world and nobody is supposed to object? The new world order can't be that convincing or popular. These people are insane. Typical Dems are okay with gerrymandering NY, NJ, CA, MA, etc. as long as they benefit. Typical.
However --- the loss of population in Blue and the gain in Red will be the deciding factor! NY once had 43 Congressmen/woman. It now has 28.

I’m very weary of this behavior. They should receive censure for that type of outburst. This is not Canada nor their personal living rooms but an office of state. Petulant children should not leave the nursery till mature enough to sit on house floor.

1. This is a legally based redistricting. Race should not be a factor in such a process. All people should be considered the same. If they want to be in a predominant Democrat region - then move!
2. They are hypocrites. Democrats have also played this game many times too.
3. The adults are finally back in charge-get over it children! if you do not like it please move!
4. Florida will be better for it.

Both McConnell and McCarthy are DC Uniparty swamp rats. Bare in mind that it was Kevin McCarthy who scuttled Larry Elder's prospects during the California gubernatorial primaries.
Both Mitch and Kevin should NOT be Senate Majority Leader and House Speaker, respectively. If they are, it's going to be business as usual with the GOP squandering their chances for real change while they could have from 2017-2018.

I can't help but imagine that many of the whining Dems will be in the news going for sex changes or be caught in the wrong childrens' bathrooms. Remember, the last Dem who ran for Fl governor was found in a hotel room with an overdosed male prostitue. And nobody knew!

It is a shame, but only Republicans get a ration of shite for defining Representative Districts in their state to their advantage. The Democrats rip their vestments and claim the seas will rise and the heavens will fall as a result of Gerrymandering. But, when Democrats are in the majority, they make Republicans look like rank amateurs at Gerrymandering Districts in their favor. And, the MSM defends them -- another double standard.
