Gov. DeSantis Is Right To Attack Disney.

ews broke Wednesday the Florida Senate had passed a bill to dismantle Walt Disney World’s half-century-old “independent special district” status, an arrangement whereby Disney has been allowed, since 1968, essentially to govern itself. Gov. Ron DeSantis says Disney’s self-governing status should be subject to review, to ensure that it is still “appropriately serving the public interest.” Good. Disney is reaping its just reward for inserting itself into the political debate about Florida’s parental rights bill, which Disney lost in spectacular fashion.

"After all, since when do Republicans actually wield power against the enemies of their voters ...? Almost never." Reagan showed them how to fight. Trump showed them how to fight. Now DeSantis is showing them how to fight. But the rest of the Republicans never learn and still select so-called "leaders" like Mitch McConnell. The Republican Party should change their symbol from a elephant to some sort of invertebrate and adopt as their motto, "We're number two, we're number two."

Disney must have had a plan banking that all the LGBTQ+ Nazis could support them while Disney insults and abandons the money spending families. The 'groomers' get groomed by DeSantis.

Poster#1, May I suggest a leech as the invertebrate symbol? McConnell and the rest have getting rich and re-elected without doing anything productive for their constituents, down to a fine art!

President Joe Biden’s Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra sidestepped a question about the University of Pittsburgh while defending fetal tissue research during a congressional hearing last week. Rep. Chris Jacobs, R-N.Y., had mentioned allegations that the university may have illegally altered abortions or obtained tissue from live fetuses. “If the tissue being used for this research was derived from babies who were born alive and then killed by organ or tissue harvesting, would that be a violation of law?” Jacobs asked.

In an age when more people than ever seem to have lost the open secret to happiness – gratitude, perspective, friends, family, etc. – and gone all-in on political ideologies, it’s worth remembering that life is fleeting. It might include suffering, but without the pain there would be no way to feel true pleasure. When God created man and made the human condition one of suffering, He did so with the purpose that it would allow us to feel joy as well. A terrific follow on Twitter, Zuby, posed a question the other day about the weighing of youth, advanced age, and the holding of wealth.

The last time the state of South Carolina executed an inmate was over ten years ago, when Jeffrey Motts was put to death in 2011 for the crime of having strangled a fellow inmate while serving a life sentence for another murder. But in less than two weeks, another convict in the Palmetto State may be put to death for his crimes, and we now know the method that will be used. Richard Bernard Moore is set to be executed on April 29th, and per South Carolina law he has been given the option to choose between the electric chair and firing squad for his mode of death.

Amid the churn of recent headlines about inflation and the war in Ukraine, you might have missed what’s happening right now on the southwest border — not the ongoing border crisis, but something very much related to it. For the past few days, commercial traffic between the United States and Mexico has ground to a halt. On Monday, Mexican truckers blocked north and southbound lanes on the Mexico side of the Pharr-Reynosa International Bridge in Pharr, Texas. They did it to protest Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s decision last week to order state troopers to inspect all northbound commercial trucks

Will he try to push towards the shutdown of our virtuous censorship of right-wingers? Will he (gasp) advocate for the allowance of content we don’t like? Musk likely has lofty goals on how he might be able to use his leverage and influence to transform Twitter’s culture. But on Saturday, he illustrated that, at the very least, he’ll continue to be a pain in their collective

The Democrat governor’s office in Pennsylvania colluded with left-wing activists to secure millions of dollars in private money to run get-out-the-vote efforts in blue counties in the swing state in 2020, new, explosive testimony revealed. The Pennsylvania legislature heard this testimony, backed up by email evidence, on Tuesday during the first public hearing on two new bills seeking to block private grants. Tuesday’s public hearing began with statements by the respective primary sponsors of the bills that seek to ban dark money from elections, with Sen. Lisa Baker speaking in support of Senate Bill 982 and Rep. Eric Nelson encouraging passage of House Bill 2044.

Contrary to what many expected, when campus radicals entered the real world, they changed it. And so Wall Street and Big Business have gone woke, with rainbow flags and Black Lives Matter banners and critical race theory as a routine part of employee training. Furthermore, the right-wing expectation that businesses that “go woke, go broke” has fallen flat. A few corporations have taken a hit to the bottom line, but most have found that going woke is just fine for business.

Last week, a Louisiana appellate court reinstated Attorney General Jeff Landry’s lawsuit challenging Mark Zuckerberg’s infiltration of the state election system with private “Zuck Bucks” that flooded the country during the 2020 election. The lawsuit, State of Louisiana v. Center for Tech and Civic Life, originated in October 2020. That’s when Louisiana, through Landry, sought a court order declaring that “private contributions to local election officials and the election system in general are unlawful and contrary to Louisiana law.” Landry’s lawsuit followed attempts by the Zuckerberg-funded Center for Tech and Civic Life to dole out millions in targeted grants to election officials throughout the state.

A common trope in popular culture is that if you commit crimes against the weak, particularly children, prison won’t be kind to you. There are many in there who committed all manner of horrific crimes but who, whether because of life experience or their own sense of justice, don’t take kindly to those who abuse children. In fact, “don’t take kindly” is quite an understatement. When it comes to those who, like the ones who many say were given a slap on the wrist by Kentanji Jackson, commit crimes involving child pornography or abusing kids, “prison justice”

The White House said this week it plans to release up to 180 million barrels of oil from strategic reserves, a million barrels a day for 180 days, to help bring down near-record gas prices that were climbing before Russia’s invasion of Ukraine but have since spiked. It will be the largest release of oil from the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve since it was established in the early 1970s, and it probably won’t work. The specific reasons it probably won’t work — congestion on the Gulf Coast, a possible reduction in supply from Saudi Arabia and other oil producers,

Two years ago, far-left California Governor Gavin Newsom, a Democrat, established a task force with the assigned mission of examining slavery reparations. From the beginning, it was clear that the outcome from the task force wasn’t going to be if it would recommend reparations, that was a foregone conclusion. The only question was to whom such reparations should be given. On Tuesday, that task force finally made their recommendation, and they may also have given a hint that whatever steps were to be taken would only be the beginning. After a lengthy debate and prior to holding the actual vote, the vice-chair of the task force,
