Travelers celebrated Monday by whipping off their face coverings and cheering after a White House official said that passengers on planes, trains and busses can finally shed their masks after more than two years. The news came immediately following a federal ruling out of Florida that struck down the public transit mask mandate, which had recently been extended by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).The ruling by US District Judge Kathryn Kimball Mizelle in Tampa, an appointee of former President Donald Trump, appeared to free operators to make their own decisions about mask requirements. She said the CDC had failed to justify its 'unlawful' mask policy, stretched the meaning of 'sanitation'

The “tweets” from some of these mask Nazis - a couple of them supposedly MD’s - are illustrative of how detached from normalcy they are. Do they not think they’ll be “protected” if they’re wearing a mask but everybody around them isn’t? It just shows that they want everyone to conform to THEIR standards of behavior, no matter how silly it is. I think those people should continue to wear masks. I want to know at a glance who they are.

You'll notice they didn't drop the mandate, they just stopped enforcing it. It's still sitting out there and they can reactivate it whenever they want. They never really let go of power they have grabbed.

Florida’s Republican-led Senate approved a bill on Wednesday looking to eliminate Disney’s special tax district that has allowed the company to self-govern its land. Remote employees are blaming Biden-fueled inflation rates and skyrocketing costs of gas and childcare for their continued to need to work from home. Now that coronavirus positivity rates are low, remote work proponents are no longer blaming their desire to stay home on safety concerns, but instead on the financial impacts of their daily office routine, which is far pricer than when the U.S. shut down in March 2020. Consumer prices reached 8.5 percent last month, nearly double what were in March 2021, and the highest inflation rate increase the country has seen since 1981.

The Biden administration is coming under increasing pressure over the looming expiration of what was a public health order that enabled U.S. authorities to turn back most migrants, including people seeking asylum from persecution. But the number of migrants now attempting to cross the U.S.-Mexico border is at its highest level in two decades - with even larger numbers expected to arrive once the pandemic-era order is lifted.

Our judicial system was created to determine factual truth and to determine whether our laws have been violated and are just. To that end, witnesses at a trial give sworn testimony on penalty of perjury and are subject to cross-examination and rebuttal. After the trial, one or more of the parties may decide to appeal the trial court decision. To preserve the trial court protections of sworn testimony, cross-examination, and rebuttal, appeals courts operate under a general rule: Appellate court review is limited to the trial court record of the evidence submitted. Shamefully, the general rule is not being followed. Enter the culprit –

A little over a decade ago, two researchers at Wharton published a paper showing that, despite women’s increasing work and educational opportunities, their self-reported happiness was in steady decline. Back in 1970, women were on average happier than men; they are now less happy than men. Broadly, since 1970, everyone has gotten more miserable. But the decline in women’s overall happiness has outpaced men’s, and the happiness curve inverted sometime in the early 1990s. The paper also documents increasing anxiety and neuroticism, as well as decreasing social cohesion among women.
