The Biden administration is claiming that Texas Gov. Greg Abbott's inspection of trucks entering the U.S. from Mexico is not only "unnecessary," but contributing to inflation throughout the country. In a statement issued Wednesday morning, White House press secretary Jen Psaki said that the delays caused by Abbott's policies were having far-reaching impacts. "Governor Abbott’s unnecessary and redundant inspections of trucks transiting ports of entry between Texas and Mexico are causing significant disruptions to the food and automobile supply chains, delaying manufacturing, impacting jobs, and raising prices for families in Texas and across the country.," Psaki said. Last week, Abbott directed the Texas Department of Public Safety to carry out

Like shutting down the Keystone, canceling oil and gas drilling leases, and increasing regulations to do business haven’t had any effect, Jen? Or maybe shutting down the economy and pumping trillions of dollars in with no increases in production.

Just going by all the violations found, plus the loads of illegals being hauled over in trucks, the truck inspections are not redundant. They are probably the first real inspections a lot of those trucks have ever had. If Biden and his bosses weren't so busy breaking the law by not enforcing them, we wouldn't have to do the Feds' job for them.

Abbott's orders would not be necessary if the Biden administration would enforce the border and immigration laws. Since neither is happening, Abbott is doing what he can to protect the border. If people want to blame anyone for delays and any other consequences, blame the Biden administration's llax border enforcement.

#14, I read that the inspections went back to normal because the Mexican state Governor at that port of entry had signed an agreement with Abbott to increase border security. And that the other ports of entry in other Mexican states were still getting the 'business' inspection-wise. Of course, the media is probably lying, but I did see that report.

KY Republicans override Beshear’s veto

The Republican-led Kentucky General Assembly voted handily Wednesday to override Gov. Andy Beshear’s veto of a bill that opponents say will effectively end abortion access in the commonwealth. Among the restrictions imposed by House Bill 3, a sweeping anti-abortion omnibus bill from Rep. Nancy Tate, R-Brandenburg, it bans the distribution of abortion pills by mail, raises standards for minors seeking an abortion, and mandates the creation of a new and expansive certification and monitoring system to track details of all abortions administered in the state and the physicians who provide them.

The FBI got walloped last week when a Michigan jury concluded that the bureau had entrapped two men accused of plotting to kidnap Gov. Gretchen Whitmer. Those men and others were arrested a few weeks before the 2020 election in a high-profile, FBI-fabricated case that Joe Biden claimed showed President Trump’s “tolerance of hate, vengeance, and lawlessness to plots such as this one.” But the jury verdict exposes how the feds have created the monsters they parade to vindicate their vast power over Americans. Michigan was a swing state in the 2020 election. When the arrests were announced, Whitmer speedily denounced Trump for inciting “domestic terrorism.”

Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) on Wednesday single-handedly wiped out the Democrats’ national gerrymandering advantage by proposing a map that eliminates constitutional infirmities. Subject to the legislature’s approval and likely court challenges, the map will destroy all the hard work Democrats’ redistricting machine has created throughout the last months. The DeSantis-proposed map will yield 20 red districts and 8 blue ones. Last month Republican establishment House Speaker Chris Sprowls (R) and Senate President Wilton Simpson (R) bucked DeSantis’s original map that would have generated 20 red and 8 blue districts. Instead, the lawmakers passed and submitted a subpar map to DeSantis

Nothing paints Joe Biden and fellow Democrats so out of touch as their lame rhetoric about inflation being “Putin’s price hike.” The editorial board of the Wall Street Journal brings the receipts on the true origins of the inflationary wave, and not just the origins but the impacts felt in every American household. While the recent global effects have had an impact, rapid inflation began a year ago — and so did the erosion of American income: White House aides were out in force on Monday warning that Tuesday’s inflation report would be ugly and blaming it on Vladimir Putin. No doubt that beats blaming your own policies.
