Russia is resupplying and reinforcing its invasion force in eastern Ukraine with a long convoy of vehicles heading to the region, indicating a new phase of the war is likely to occur there, according to a senior Pentagon officials. The convoy, exposed in commercial satellite imagery, stretches an estimated eight miles. It appears to contain vehicles to command and supply infantry units and possibly helicopters, said the official who provided intelligence assessments on condition of anonymity. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned of an impending Russian offensive in his country's east and has urged civilians to flee the region. "The occupiers

Didn't we send Ukraine weapons that could wipe out a sitting duck convoy?

Sounds like a job for a few A-10s.

Didn't the Russians have a 40-mile convoy heading toward the capitol about a month ago? I wonder if this equipment is in any better shape. The last one had dry rotted tires on the vehicles. No gas trucks, and no food for the soldiers. Maybe they learned something from that disaster which is why this convoy is only eight miles long.

A few Tomahawks and A-10s could turn that road into The Little Big Horn in a matter of minutes.

The Soviets sending an invasion force to engage the Nazis, there I fixed the headline to let everyone know who the combatants are. USA has a military expert analysis who knew?

Correct me if I'm wrong...
Kyiv is in Western Ukraine, but now Russia is targeting the Eastern part? Wonder how much of Ukrainian military resources are needed to defend Kyiv and if they can spare any elsewhere.

Last month we saw a convoy like this from space and a few days later we saw it up close, all burned out. We'll see what happens this time.

Re #5, if they had them, it would be a fun time for the Warthog drivers, for sure. A friend used to fly these, and a family member, a test pilot, got a short familiarization flight in an A-10, and enough gun ammo for a couple of firing passes on an old tank hulk on a military firing range. My test pilot relative wasn't much impressed with the performance of the A-10, but was very impressed with that 30mm cannon. He called it "a death ray" He said "Put the pipper on the target, pull the trigger and the target dies. Every time." He was a fighter pilot before going test pilot, so wanted more speed and thrust, but the A-10 isn't about that, it's about the big gun, low and slow and 15 hard points on the wing for bombs and missiles, too.
This civilian pilot has flown a couple of military aircraft, and an A-10 would be a whole lot of fun to try on.
Less fun when the targets are shooting back, I'm sure.

A young teenage boy (14 yrs.) was watching the news of the war in Ukraine with me, and asked, "Why do people go to war anyway?" I remembered two words from a quote of Archbishop Fulton Sheen about reasons for war: ego and selfishness. I might add: the armament business and the construction business. The Ukrainians do not want this war; most Russians, including their soldiers, do not want this war; the church hierarchy do not want this war; obviously, teen-age boys and girls do not want this war, nor do their mothers and fathers. Everything about this war is evil and pointless and I bet Lucifer is dancing a jig
wherever he is.

This is so senseless. Russia is a country awash in natural resources. Embrace capitalism, give a percentage to the folks running the country and everyone is happy. What a waste.

If Ukraine has bomber aircraft this would be a good time to use them. In a 'normal' war such a convoy could be wiped out.
