The Texas General Land Office (GLO) is seeking to use taxpayer money to buy Twitter and Facebook ads touting its work just weeks before Land Commissioner George P. Bush squares off in a primary runoff for state attorney general. The timing raises questions about whether the ad push is politically motivated and meant to boost Bush's campaign for attorney general on the taxpayers' dime.Last month, the GLO sought to purchase ads on Twitter and Facebook to promote the agency's activities.According to the notices of intent for the bids, the purpose is for Twitter and Facebook "to provide strategically placed advertisements for the Texas General Land Office on [their] social media platforms.

Government agencies shouldn't be advertising in the first place. If they want to have a website, twitter feed etc that's fine; But I doubt that more than .00001% of Twitter and Facebook users have even a vague interest in the Texas General Land Office. Waste of taxpayer money, whether or not GPB is using it to advance his Bushite politics or not.

George P. screwed over Hurricane Harvey victims with lazy effort to help those affected, and worst of all, he screwed around with the Shrine of Texas Liberty, the Alamo. His deals with out of state people attempting to "wall off" the Alamo plaza with plexiglass andexpecting visitors to put up with revisionist history was stopped when over 29,000 persons contacted the Texas Historical Commission to prevent the moving of the Alamo Cenotaph. JEB!'s son only finished up his law degree when he wanted to ascend to higher office. Ken Paxton has been fighting on behalf of Texas and gets my vote! When Texas sued at the Supreme Court, the Constitution COMPELLED them to hear his arguments, but they and other courts have refused to do what they are compelled to do, and as a result, we have a person occupying the White House who does nothing by do the OPPOSITE of what would keep our nation safe! No More Bushies-- EVER

The Bush-Rove globalist crowd IS running Texas Republican politics. They will ruin us as they use our state to launch not that bright junior lawyer P Bush into the Attorney General office and them the Governor’s Mansion. I see no vocal and organized conservatives fighting the stealth rise of that little pipsqueak.

George P Bush is a bad Texan. Once he got into the GLO the. rumbles took off to change the ownership and management of The Alamo. 100 years of dedicated service by the Daughters of the Republic of Texas were peed on by the government’s grunts put in place by the son of a leftist Mexican woman. I hate him. Sending money to Ken Paxton!

Donald Trump held a rally in North Carolina on Saturday night, but it wasn’t the normal theatrics and hilarity that the former president delivers that made the biggest impression. Rather, it was an endorsement that seems to have come out of nowhere, and I’ll go so far as to say it may be his worst ever (yes, worse than Morgan Ortega) — at least as a Republican politician. Honestly, I know some people take umbrage with anyone ever questioning Trump’s decision-making, but this is truly a head-scratching moment. I’m not sure offering endorsements to people based on them being on TV for a long time is the best strategy.

National Review’s Kevin Williamson is urging conservatives to divorce, or at least, separate, for a time, from the Republican Party -- that is, from the Donald Trump-led Republican Party. In a recent column, Williamson claims that what he calls “sensible conservatives” twenty years ago or so “could take a realistic, instrumental view of the GOP and find it reasonably useful for our ends.” But not today. Not when the Republican Party consists of “vulgar” populists and “infantile” nationalists who loathe free trade, free speech, the U.S. military, and libertarians.
