President Joe Biden is extending the federal moratorium on student loan repayments until August 31, it was reported on Tuesday, as progressives continue to put pressure on the White House to cancel college debt altogether. Roughly 43 million federal student loan borrowers have not been required to make payments for more than two years, since the CARES Act was first signed into law under Donald Trump. Interest rates on student loans held by the government will also remain at zero.

Since Biden is not going to have student debts repaid, he will understand that we will be repudiating all the national debt he is running up, likewise.

Go ahead Brandon. Erase school debt just before the election. You think it will get you votes. I don’t think so. It will actually tick off a lot of people. Like all those who paid off school debt.

Did you work your way through school, take out only modest student loans instead of borrowing to live like a king or queen while in school? And did you then pay those loans off as soon as you could? That's great, because now you're in position to assume the debt of those who did otherwise.

These universities with multi-billion dollar endowments are the ones who need to forgive/reduce the student debts; or better yet, at least offer a significant rebate to all their students for the last twenty years. They were the ones who put the hard sell on 18-year-olds; promising a career in "something studies" that could pay back the loans. The universities knowingly sold a worthless product to wet-behind-the-ears "adults", and they are the ones ultimately responsible. Although I do agree, if you sign the loan papers - you pay it back.
Its a pity more parents didn't counsel their young people better. My parents warned me against applying for student loans and I went to the local state school. Once I started working no one really cared from which school I graduated.

If Joey cancels that debt, expect that $1 trillion boon to students to jack up that inflation rate another point or two.

Why stop at school loans? What about car loans and mortgages? We all want to be on this gravy train. We are all entitled to our "fair share" of the free stuff.

I guess I’m still amazed that as many Americans there are that still bother to get up in the morning, go to work, raise families, pay their bills and are responsible. These bums in college today will forever have a lip lock on the government teat, vote democrat and never amount to anything.

AOC cries she has crushing student loan debt herself. Sell the Tesla AOC. The payment on your Tesla is more than enough to pay your student loan payment and a cheap car payment each month. Better yet, be green and take the bus, subway, or ride a bike to your office each day.

I doubt that Biden will forgive the loans, the downside to the economy is too great. He will continue to kick the can down the road until the Republicans take back Congress and then blame them for not letting him forgive the loans. The MSM will then run with the story.
