Rep. Fred Upton (R-MI) on Tuesday announced his exit from Congress, notching up a 40-percent exit rate among House Republicans who voted to impeach Donald Trump.Just before announcing his retirement, Upton noted in a campaign email on Tuesday “very positive” poll numbers in his primary race against Trump-endorsed Rep. Bill Huizenga (R-MI). Both Huizenga and Upton were running for the same seat due to state redistricting.“My district was cut like Zorro — three different ways,” Upton told reporters. “So I’ve been here 36 years. When I first ran, I thought I’d be here 10.” (Snip)"But no, this was our decision, independent of what I did with Trump,”

Upton is old and he has been in Congress for tooooo long. He should go even if he had voted against impeachment. The fact that he voted for it indicates that he is not grasping modern realty, just like some old geezer who thinks $15,000 is a livable annual salary.

It's a good start!! But what is essential is that the top two or three levels of management in all branches of the Government need to go away as well. What used to be 'lifers' has morphed into management being driven by ideology that can just sit on their hands and not accomplish anything.

Pope Francis, a leading advocate of Doormat Christianity, is at it again, trying to reverse nearly two millennia of Christian doctrine, by preaching total passivity—even against violent aggression. On March 18, 2022, Francis declared before an audience that “A war is always—always!—the defeat of humanity, always. We, the educated, who work in education, are defeated by this war, because on another side we are responsible.” So far, all well and good, if only because such lofty but impotent words are expected.
