Washington state school district will
encourage teachers to consider a student's
race when dishing out punishments: Critics
say new policy will result in harsher
punishments for white students

A school district in Washington state has passed a new policy encouraging administrators to factor in race when disciplining students. The Clover Park School District board approved the new policy on a 3-2 vote on March 14, over the objections of board members who expressed concerns that it was ill-conceived. The district in the suburbs of Tacoma will now use 'culturally responsive discipline' that encourages school staff to impose punishments that 'may be adapted to individual student needs in a culturally responsive manner.' Critics say the new approach is in effect a race-based disciplinary policy that will encourage harsher or lighter punishments based on a student's race,

Comments:

"Free" public schools run by the government and funded by the taxpayers were a fatal mistake.

In short, the liberals believe black kids can’t be held to the same standards of behavior as “respectable” members of society. What racists.

Number 1-----Mr. or Ms. Ruffian. The liberals are right. Black kids cannot be held to the same standards ---not only of behavior but scholarship as well. Not because they are less intelligent, but because they don't care to behave or study. Not all of them, but the trouble makers and slothful ones who these ignorant school board members want to cater to. It appears in America today that it is ok to screw over white people ,but black people have the preference they accuse whites of.

This has been the unwritten policy of many school districts for years. Throw the book at the white, middle class kid for a "jaywalking" offense and look the other way when a minority kid punches out his/her teacher.

it's only "fair" since the black kids' great, great, great, great, great, great grandparents may have been captured by their brothers and sold into slavery while the white kids' great, great, great, great, great, great grandparents may have merely been serfs or endentured servants. I seem to recall Joseph's brothers sold him into slavery and he did quite well.

My company provides maintenance services to about a dozen urban schools. The Catholic ones maintain standards and discipline, where the "woke" charter schools no longer apply any degree of discipline and resort to bribing the children with candy to behave. As expected, the schools are absolute chaos and the teachers are regularly being assaulted by even the youngest grade schoolers. The students are not at all punished and the teachers are leaving in droves.

This is beyond amateurish. Every school provides students and parents with a handbook stating the rules and expectations that apply to all students. Punishment is "earned" by the individual disregarding the rules. Violators deserves nothing less than the punishment applied to everyone else. Race doesn't enter into it. Disruptive students deprive every other student in the classroom of their right to an education. It is troubling that anyone on a school board would promote "adjusting" punishment for violators based upon race.

This needs to go to the Supreme Court on a fast track and get a ruling out for all to see. Americans need to see the unconstitutional crap being doled out by the public school systems. This is why Governor DeSantis of Florida went on the offensive to prevent liberals from harming pre-k thru 3rd Grade students with exposure to obscene sexual material without parental consent. We need a nationwide policy from the Teachers Union stating no CRT no early age sexual education will occur nationwide. If they won’t support that, we need a nationwide referendum to ELIMINATE the national teachers union and associated organizations!

School districts across FL (and likely the nation) have forbidden teachers and administrators to file “referrals” for Black students because historically the overwhelming number of referrals were for black students. Now, they just look the other way and only do referrals on unprotected classes (whites).

That kind of policy kept Trayvon Martin on the streets instead of in jail or school counseling for repetitive bad behavior. Result — vicious attack on a passerby that resulted in Martins needless death. Had the school system dealt with this properly, this incident would not have occurred.

So this little podunk town, having a school district that thinks they have the right to a culturally responsive discipline, to punish white children? This has been the unofficial policy for many years. The teachers know it; the students know it. To idiots in the school system, race-based punishment is the way to go. Thomas Sowell once related a point in his intellectual development when he realized that his bosses who legislated ideological social policy didn't want to know if their policies actually worked or were even counter-productive. This policy is certain to make the situation even worse, yet I guarantee that none of the the people who vote for this fiasco will care.

It is hard to believe what this country is turning into. Laws are laws and rules are rules and if not applied equally society stops functioning properly. Black students received a better education back in the 50's and 60's than they do today. Why, because discipline was enforced equally across the board. All students knew it. Today over 50% of black students never graduate high school and that number is even higher in cities like Chicago, Baltimore and other mostly black cities. They are basically illiterate and the democrats and their liberal policies are responsible for it. Look at the number of teenage blacks committing violent crimes today. Sad fact is these kids can barely speak. How anybody can support the people that are destroying these schools is appalling. How anybody can vote for a democrat is absolutely sickening. Wake up...
