Romney to Take ‘Much Deeper Dive’
Into Judge Jackson’s Record Ahead of
Senate Vote

Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) said in an interview with CNN that he was planning “a much deeper dive” into Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s record ahead of the Senate vote to confirm her to the Supreme Court. Romney has long been known for voting much closer to the center than his GOP colleagues, and some Democrats view him as a potential swing-voter in favor of Jackson. Romney said that he has not made the decision whether he will vote for her or not, but he was opposed to her nomination to the D.C. District Circuit Court last year. This time around, he promised to look much further into her track record

Comments:

Attracted to that “deep dive” bit in his morning paper. Has a cool ring. He’s lying. Mitt the Mendacious.

Compared to Mitt Romney, folks like Adam Schiff, Eric Swalwell, and Nancy Pelosi are the most honest politicians around. You trust Schiff, Swalwell, and Pelosi to stab you in the back every chance they get. In fact, you expect them to twist it in a lttle deeper everytime. Folks like Mitt Romney are the least trustworthy. They'll come up to you, slap you on the back, and tell you they are on your side. And when you walk away, you feel the knife he left in your back,

The U.S. military’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate has been blocked for all Navy members seeking religious exemptions. A preliminary injunction that previously covered 35 Navy SEALs now covers some 4,000 others. U.S. District Judge Reed O’Connor, a George W. Bush appointee who entered the original ruling in January, agreed to expand it in part because all members who have applied for religious exemptions “have all been harmed in essentially the same way.” “Each is subject to the Navy’s COVID-19 vaccine mandates. Each has submitted her religious accommodation request, and none has received accommodation. Without relief, each servicemember faces the threat of discharge and the consequences that accompany it.

It’s a wrong direction to choose a Supreme Court Justice candidate based on race and gender instead of merit and qualifications, said Ben Carson, the Housing and Urban Developing Secretary under the Trump administration. “So many people fought for such a long time to make sure that we had equality of opportunity. Desperate to change the subject from how Joe Biden’s weak leadership and incoherent foreign policy set the stage for Vladimir Putin’s brutal war against Ukraine, many on the Left and in the mainstream media have resorted to a familiar tactic: Find a way to blame this crisis on President Trump—even though he has been out of office for 14 months. The first attempt by liberals, like Washington Post editorial writer Eugene Robinson and former National Security Council staff member and Brookings Institution Senior Fellow Fiona Hill, was to claim that Trump’s national security policies, especially concerning Russia and NATO, emboldened Putin to invade Ukraine.
