Can Rick Scott trump Ron DeSantis to win
the GOP base?

Original Article

For many conservatives, if you have gotten on the wrong side of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) you must be doing something right. For example, Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) irked McConnell in a big way after releasing his “11-Point Plan to Rescue America: What Americans Must Do to Save this Country.” Never heard of it? That would not be surprising, since many mainstream media outlets ignored it. But I can assure you that Scott’s ideas are spreading among conservatives like wildfire. Within a week, five of my conservative friends had emailed it to me, and I’m sure that’s happening with others as well.

Comments:

Do you know what Scott’s plan is? What else does he have? Is MacKinnon serious?

No. Scott is an establishment Republican. He fits well in that slot, as he is an ignorant person, no personality, or social skills. I do commend him for introducing a plan that is half right.

DeSantis isn't just about saying nice words that get people excited. He is all about actions that get people excited. Admittedly, he has the "pulpit" of being governor to actually show that he means what he says through his actions. Hopefully Scott is the "real deal". But, sadly, I don't trust anyone in DC right now. DC is not a "swamp", it is a "sewer". And anyone spending any time there at all tends to get "DC sewer-itis". So for me right now, it's #1Trump, #2 DeSantis, and the rest need to prove themselves with actions not just words!!!!!

Wow why are people here trashing Scott? First of all he not a entrenched Republican and clearly went against the establishment with this plan. Second I don't think he has plans for a presidential run but he sure would make a better Senate majority leader that the dope from Kentucky. Scott worked in the private sector for years until politics forced him out of the heath care world. He's aggressive and smart and he and Trump are good friends. His plan is a good start and I called my senators in Tennessee to back it.

Seriously? DeSantis has an actual, years-long record of rational opposition to the Swamp, while all Scott offers is a document. What else has Scott actually accomplished, defended, or prosecuted during his time in office? Being from Texas, I liken their differences to those between Senators Cruz and Cornyn... Cruz, while he's far from perfect, at least gets in the faces of the Swamp creatures every so often...Cornyn, virtually never.

There is no comparison between Scott and DeSantis. I like Scott and the good things that he has done, but DeSantis is Trump 2.0. He is the “nicer, less abrasive” Trump. While Trump may have DeSantis beat on instinct and street smarts, DeSantis has quite an intellect that he doesn’t show or brag on. I would love to see a Trump/DeSantis ticket in 2024. They won win Billy and drain the swamp. DeSantis would have the top job in 2028, and we would have a conservative presidency for 12 years…during which time they’d dismantle the Democrat Party.

Scott's plan is a rehash of every conservative talking point in recent years. What's not to like? Funny thing is that, for example, while exercising control over public schools, Scott "will close the federal Department of Education. Education is a state function." Yeah, while the Feds dictate each kid they have to start with the Pledge and what the locals will teach. No contradiction there. It's boob bait. Be careful what you wish for...

Rick Scott was governor of Fla for eight years from 2011-2019 I think. I don't remember him cleaning up the cheating in Broward and Miami Dade like DeSantis did. Nor do I remember him doing much of anything to push back at the Rhinos and Democrats. So for this idiot writer to try to compare Scott to DeSantis is one heck of a streatch. DeSantis = results; Scott = talk.

Doug and the gang at the Hill has to make up stories like this rather than do something useful for American citizens like an in depth review of the top ten rat politicians. How many horrible things has dick durbin done in office? THAT would be useful 'news' coverage, but Doug and the rest of the Hill will NEVER expose rat corruption, lies or beliefs that destroy American lives.

It’s a wrong direction to choose a Supreme Court Justice candidate based on race and gender instead of merit and qualifications, said Ben Carson, the Housing and Urban Developing Secretary under the Trump administration. “So many people fought for such a long time to make sure that we had equality of opportunity. And a lot of blood was shed. A lot of people went to prison. Desperate to change the subject from how Joe Biden’s weak leadership and incoherent foreign policy set the stage for Vladimir Putin’s brutal war against Ukraine, many on the Left and in the mainstream media have resorted to a familiar tactic: Find a way to blame this crisis on President Trump—even though he has been out of office for 14 months. The first attempt by liberals, like Washington Post editorial writer Eugene Robinson and former National Security Council staff member and Brookings Institution Senior Fellow Fiona Hill, was to claim that Trump’s national security policies, especially concerning Russia and NATO, emboldened Putin to invade Ukraine.

Patients with moderate COVID-19 appeared to benefit from early administration of aspirin, according to a new study. Patients who were given aspirin on their first day in the hospital were less likely to die or experience blood clotting, researchers found. Dr. Jonathan Chow with the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences and other researchers analyzed data from 64 healthcare systems for the study. Moderate COVID-19 was defined as not needing intensive care such as mechanical ventilation of oxygenation. Out of 112,269 patients with moderate COVID-19, approximately 15,200 received aspirin on the first day of admission. The median duration of aspirin administration was five days.
