With the price of gas rising across the U.S., lawmakers are developing a string of proposals to help motorists - from $400 rebates for all taxpayers in California to imposing windfall taxes on oil companies or a sliding scale of payments that could net families as much as $300 every month. The average cost of a gallon has raced past $4 a gallon amid domestic inflation and the impact of Vladimir Putin's war in Ukraine. This week, the average price of a gallon of regular gas in Los Angeles hit a record $6.011,

$300 would be helpful.
But $600 would be twice as helpful.
Actually, $3000 would be dandy. I need a new car.
These people are dumber than dirt.

In California, everybody gets a $400 check whether you have a car or not. Sounds like a plan the Dems will want to roll out nationwide.

If those making over $300,000 a year will be OK during inflation then let's give everyone $300,000 a year. Then none of us have to eat lentils or let our pets die. Have biden sign an EO to that effect. Problem solves. Dems are going to give away the money anyway to buy votes.

Typical. Dems create the problem and then ride to the rescue with money. Then tell the sheeple that if they don't vote for Dems, the evil Republicans will take their free money away.

Inflation, print too much money, pass it out and watch it grow. Print more money to pass out because of the high inflation we already have and watch it grow even bigger. Gas prices high because of this clown car administration policies. Gas high, give away money, gas goes even higher, print more money, gas goes even higher. Sounds like a plan.

The Dems have a great policy: we’ll eff up this country, then when the people complain, we’ll just hand out some more money.

NO. Everybody should be forced to feel the full extent of Joe's criminal behavior. He caused the problem by his EO-mandated restrictions. Remove those restrictions. Every stimulus since Joe "took" office has been nothing but bribery to hide stupid and evil actions.

$300 will last about two trips to the gas station. Why not open up the pipelines. Forget the argument that it would be over a year before production begins. The jobs generated produce income for struggling families and last longer than this symbolic meaningless gesture.

Marie Antoinette's famous quote about the French people, prior to the Revolution "let the eat cake" is the forbearer to the present day's dictum from the demcommies: give 'em more money, that we'll get back anyway is the most disgusting political reference to the people of this country, that is should be widely disseminated and thrown back into their faces but better yet, kick them out of office and show them who the real people who matter, in this country. are

Sure, give us $300 and next year we find out we have to declare that on our income tax.
Last week someone said 'instead of build back better, put everything back the way you found it.'

I received my form telling me how much I received from Covid reparations. The letter was very clear this was not taxable income but that they had a special line on the tax form to record this number, and if my adjusted income fell in the correct bracket I would qualify for more money! Well Hot Dog, I’m paying myself! Huh, what?
