Democrats plot to halt inflated gas prices

Democrats don't seem to ever learn Economics 101, do they? That's obvious enough in their various bone-headed schemes to beat soaring gas prices at the pump by throwing new money at the problem. Fox11 has the story: One proposal comes from Reps. Mike Thompson of California, John Larson of Connecticut, and Lauren Underwood of Illinois. The congressional lawmakers propose the Gas Rebate Act of 2022 where Americans would get an energy rebate of $100 per month (and $100 for each dependent) for the rest of 2022 in any month where the national average gas prices exceed $4.00 per gallon.

To the left any problem can be cured by throwing money at it. I wonder why the debt is over 30 trillion?

I wonder whether these Democrat politicians desire that this inflation continue. They know this irresponsible printing of money causes inflation. They know that everyone is increasingly disgusted, yet they continue full speed ahead. Do they believe the November 2022 voters will continue electing Democrats? Why might they believe this? I will not be surprised that their plan is more massive outcome determinative vote fraud this November. Perhaps a new COVID variant and a repeat of the 2020 pervasive unrequested mail-in ballots, drop boxes, no signatures required, allowing voting days after election day, etc.? Not a prediction. Just a possible explanation.

This is obviously aimed at the November election and prospective Democrat voters in the Democrat run big cities where most don’t own motor vehicles or purchase gasoline. If the wimpy Republicans allow this proposal to get through Congress with Biden signing it into law during the run up to the November election they will just be committing political suicide by helping the leftist, progressive, and socialist Democrats cause inflation to increase further.

Yes, dems think the money supply for things they want can be made up out of thin air. This is NEVER true and every government that pursues this policy crashes and burns. It's obvious. The problem is, MOST VOTERS DO NOT UNDERSTAND ECONOMICS. So when dems fervently claim this is true and haul out their pet academics like Robert Reich and his ilk to support their daffy ideas, many Americans looking for a solution believe them. I might argue that the pandemic was unprecedented and some of the stimulus was justified to carry people through. We have done similar things for major wars. Most of the impact of the pandemic was over when Biden took office but dems have been spending out-of-control on their pet projects under a COVID umbrella. Yes, COVID cases surged in 2021 but the impact on the economy was NOT as significant as in 2020. Government spending should have been constrained but after Trump took a hatchet to dem projects for 4 years, they were eager to binge and they did. As to gas prices, I strongly disagree that only printing money is inflationary. Oil is an essential commodity that's prices impact everyone and every business. Prices for commodities can rise immediately, in an inflationary way, when shortages, current OR FUTURE, occur that have nothing to do with demand. Biden created future shortages when he blocked drilling and pipelines. There was an instant rise in prices. That has rippled through the economy. Truthfully, the war in Ukraine has also threatened energy supplies and, because energy is a GLOBAL commodity, is piling onto the damage Biden already did. Since the war occurred because Biden is such a weak leader, Biden is at fault for this as well.
