Who do voters blame for inflation, especially at the gas pumps? It’s not Vladimir Putin, and they don’t chalk it up to “corporate greed” either. A pair of new polls identify who gets the blame for inflation and how much it will occupy voters in eight months — and again two years later, Fed chair Jerome Powell suggested yesterday.
We’ll get back to that projection at the end. The more significant of the polls comes from Emerson, whose polling has been a bit kinder to Joe Biden on job approval. He gets a 43/49 overall from Emerson, a slight improvement over last month’s 42/50. Among independents,

A district judge, appointed by former President Donald Trump, has blocked President Joe Biden’s so-called “sanctuary country” orders that have successfully protected millions of illegal aliens from arrest and deportation over the last year.
On Tuesday, District Judge Michael J. Newman issued a preliminary injunction against Biden’s orders that prevent Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents from arresting and deporting most of the nation’s 11 to 22 million illegal aliens across the United States.
The orders were imposed in September 2021 after the Biden administration was successfully sued by Texas and Louisiana for implementing similar orders at the start of last year.

Orlando, Fla - Some employees of The Walt Disney Company took part in a full walkout Tuesday to protest the company’s initial response to Florida’s Parental Rights in Education bill. Dubbed the “Don’t Say Gay” bill by critics, the legislation would restrict discussions centered on sexual orientation and gender identity in schools. The bill passed Florida’s House and Senate and is expected to be signed into law by Gov. Ron DeSantis.
In California, about 100 employees conducted a walkout outside the Disney Animation Building in Burbank, according to reports. Some held signs and others chanted, "say gay."
In Florida, however, there was not a big showing

It’s a slow news day about Ukraine. The US and the world wait for Poland to make a controversial peacekeeping proposal to NATO at the upcoming summit in Brussels on March 24th. The mainstream media focuses on the Ukrainian humanitarian situation in Mariupol, where the Russian army is now engaging in street fighting inside the city.
The telegram chat book “Ukrainian freedom news” shows a clip of the fighting. But the internet buzz emerging today is near the capital city of Kyiv, where Ukrainian forces look to have been on the move since around March 19 against the Russian Army. With up to 99 percent of information

Washington - The United States on Tuesday ended a longstanding dispute with Britain over U.S. steel and aluminum tariffs, and said the two allies would work closely together to address market overcapacities from non-market economies like China.
In a joint statement, U.S. Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo and U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai said the deal would allow historically based sustainable volumes of U.K. steel and aluminum products to enter the U.S. market without the application of Section 232 tariffs.
In addition to setting smelt and cast requirements on aluminum, the deal requires any U.K. steel company owned by a Chinese entity to audit its financial records to assess influence

A group that has singled out journalists and Democrats in undercover operations contends that prosecutors misled a federal court and sought unwarranted gag orders during a federal investigation of the group’s ties to the alleged theft of a diary belonging to President Joe Biden’s daughter Ashley. In November, the FBI conducted predawn raids at the home of Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe and the homes of two other individuals who worked with the group. The agents acted with warrants that allowed them to seize phones and computers to search for evidence of trafficking in interstate property.

It goes without saying that leftists have perfected the art of situational ethics. The basic operating rule for the left is: “‘Democracy’ means getting what we want; if any institution doesn’t give us what we want, that institution must be destroyed,” though they will always call it “reform.”
Consider the cliche of the last few years that “democracy is in peril,” and then let this Washington Post headline settle in at a leisurely pace: From “democracy in crisis” to rule by decree faster than Vin Diesel in Fast & Furious 10. (Shouldn’t Vin Diesel change his last name in this time of the climate crisis? Maybe some other time. . .)

We’ve got quite a post-modernist culture war on our hands over transgender issues. Former Navy SEAL and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis just went kinetic with fiery remarks about the NCAA.
On Tuesday, DeSantis issued a proclamation announcing that native Sarasota, Fla., athlete Emma Weyant, who swims for the University of Virginia, logged “the fastest time among all women swimmers” at the NCAA championship in the NCAA Division I final over the weekend.
He accused the NCAA of “destroying opportunities for women” and perpetuating “a fraud on the public,” and berated them for “putting ideology ahead of opportunity for women athletes.”

Pentagon press secretary John Kirby said Tuesday that there is "clear evidence" that the Russian military is conducting war crimes in its invasion of Ukraine.
"Russia is the aggressor here and I think we have seen here at the Pentagon - we're certainly seeing clear evidence that the Russian military is conducting war crimes," Kirby told "Fox & Friends" on Tuesday.
"We think it's important for the investigative process to continue. We're going to contribute to that. But obviously, relations with Russia are not at a premium nor should they be given the unprovoked and illegal aggression that Russia has put on the people of Ukraine," he continued.

The Russian military has lost more than 10% of the combat force that President Vladimir Putin sent to invade Ukraine, a senior Pentagon official said Tuesday.
The Russian combat force has dipped slightly below 90% for the first time in a war that began less than a month ago, said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity to describe intelligence assessments. Not all of the more than 150,000 Russian troops in and around Ukraine are combat troops; many provide support functions.
Russian ground forces remain largely stalled across Ukraine, particularly around the capital of Kyiv, where their closest troops remain about 10 miles from the city’s center.
