A federal judge has ruled that a former Kentucky clerk violated the constitutional rights of two same-sex couples who were among those to whom she wouldn't issue marriage licenses—a refusal that sparked international attention and briefly landed her in jail in 2015.
US District Judge David Bunning in Ashland issued the ruling Friday in two longstanding lawsuits involving Kim Davis, the former clerk of Rowan County, and two same-sex couples who sued her.(Snip)Bunning reasoned that Davis 'cannot use her own constitutional rights as a shield to violate the constitutional rights of others while performing her duties as an elected official.'

Deeply religious, OP, can mean following the doctrines of the denomination you belong to. Dubya is either a United Methodist or an Episcopalian. Don't confuse those two churches, among many other, with Christianity.

Its odd cause many of us have read the Constitution several times and not once does it mention a right to marry, much less a right to have homosexual marriages. Oh, yeah, way back when the Supreme Joke ruled that it, and it alone, can change the constitution and create 'rights' that are not explicitly declared in the constitution.

Well, does this affect the law that was passed in California a few years ago, that the voters approved by 60% (that marriage was between one man and one woman) and a homosexual judge overruled the voters and threw the law out?

The people who approve and accept the abominations as God describes them are just as guilty of the abominations as are those who participate in the abomination activity. Remember what 'I AM' God our Father Creator did to the abominations in Sodom, Gomorrah and three other cities.
Proverbs 17
15 He who justifies the wicked, and he who condemns the just, both of them alike are an abomination to the LORD.
2 Timothy 3
3 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers (sexual) lusts,

Please cite the section in the Constitution where it states that you must bestow marital rights on rug munchers and butt pirates. People have a right to be decent, respectful human beings. Others have no obligation to satisfy the perversions that embarrass or disgust them.

Kim Davis made her point. And it was the wrong point.
Let's think a bit out of the box. A Muslim is your local clerk and you show up wanting a license. You're Christian or whatever, and the Muslim sees your marriage to be "false and sinful" under Sharia. Is that right? No complaints?
The law is to be applied in a secular manner. School prayers? Sure, until the local Satanist demands a turn, or a Rastaferian, or...
Life changes for those who take out a business license or elected office. The laws are always great until your own get in a twist.

A marriage license is a constitutional right? Who knew? Another black-robed creep self-identifies as a commie tyrant. Invite 'em to a necktie party.

You are required to issue a marriage license that you know to be false and sinful, and the aggrieved parties, who could simply have gone to another clerk, can ruin you with lawsuits out of pure malice. It's right there in the Constitution, says the Dubya appointee. The deeply religious Dubya, who once out of office revealed his secret support for Gay marriage, abortion, and other traditional atheist sacraments, would agree.
