China May Find That Taiwan Is A Hard Nut

“We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender....”- Winston Churchill The Taiwanese, like the Ukrainians, pose no threat to their neighbors. But, like Putin, Xi Jinping denies that they have a right to co-exist as a free people. He is surely watching Putin’s efforts to measure China’s chances against Ukraine. China, though, will face unique challenges if it attacks Taiwan, in addition to meeting the same fierce local resistance Putin’s experiencing. For two decades, Trump has been fully aware of the danger from China.

Taiwan was/is the largest investor in China. Does anyone think that the super wealthy in Taiwan would allow a war between Taiwan and China? It was always an unwritten agreement that when China's economy was on a par with Taiwan, then Taiwan would find a way to join China, as long as they didn't lose face.

If Xi decides to invade, he'll have to contend with...Joe Biden. By the time his handlers wake the pResident up, China's bombardment will have pulverized Taiwan's defenses.

Does anyone remember the intel articles of the early 80's when Israel, apartheid South Africa and Taiwan were jointly building a stockpile of nukes? If true, and knowing how the Chicoms have brutalized politicians and freedom protesters in Hong Kong, are these weapons of last resort on a heinous tyranny?

I fear American deployment under any demorat control, and especially when the cancerous Wokeism has been injected so thoroughly into the military. My worst fear is a Wokeist officer corps, there because of political reliability alone, will throw away the best and brightest under them in ill advised, blissfully ignorant lost cause actions against their chicomm owners.

Now the big advantage Russia had with Ukraine is that common border. If the Chicoms want to mount an amphibious invasion across the 105 miles of the Taiwan Strait that means Assault ships to carry troops, tanks & artillery. Right now, according to the latest info, they don't have enough to carry the 10,000s of troops needed. Satellites would reveal any build up of naval forces along with troops & equipment loading on the China coasts. Once they streamed out the surprise is gone. If you want to defeat such an invasion your primary targets are the troop ships which will be easy to ID. Sink them. Cripple them. Burn them. Without the troops,in their sardine cans, the invasion is defeated before they land. Same situation for airborne you target the troop planes. Taiwan's military has been preparing for this one enemy for decades & are highly trained, armed & equipped. Anyone of his military advisors that tells Xi what Putin's told him about Ukraine is either a liar or a fool. Hopefully they are neither & Xi isn't stupid with an ego.

The straits of Taiwan are not China's biggest problem. Taiwan is simply too powerful economically and politically. I wouldn't be surprised if Taiwan and South Korea for that matter have secretly gone nuclear. And the Chinese know it. China's best chance is to cause a breakdown of will among the Taiwanese. That doesn't seem to be realistic.

Xi has managed to screw up the Chinese economy, even after taking back HK. So he is looking to steal another economy and still keep an iron grip on China's. He is also looking ahead by investing in several nations in Africa. Several have long term loans China knows won't be repaid so they can steal the valuable resources in return for repayment. China is all about stealing, and they have lost the art of building anything that will last. All well and good regarding China letting their economy become like Taiwan's and the rest of the world. But because they have such a tight grip on their population, it is never going to happen. So they have to steal to survive. I think they are salivating just thinking about the riches just off shore. Plus it is going to hurt us as well with our own investments and other interests there.

Forewarned is forearmed! The Taiwanese are smart enough to see what is going on as well. They know they will have to fight or end up like Hong Kong ... slowly swallowed by the python. One big difference between them and the Ukraine is that the Taiwanese will hit back at the mainland with its strong and better manned air force --- up to and including bombing major cities in retaliation, including Beijing. Notice how that has not happened in the Ukraine situation. The Ukes have not counter-attacked.

What's China's rush to invade Taiwan? Anyone? China will do what China does. It will wait until the times are right to negotiate an annexation, likely with special arrangement, such as in Macao and Hong Kong. The Taiwanese are China's largest investor and a major trade partner...logic dictates destroying the golden goose. Well, doesn't it?

My contacts in Taiwan are on their guard, but practical and not too fearful. They will fight, and they have strong allies with India, Japan, South Korea and Australia, and the PRC is in trouble. This is another fight that the US should stay out of.

NEW YORK, NY- Much of what we are currently dealing with—from escalating gas prices to runaway inflation to Vladimir Putin’s genocide against Ukraine—can be traced back to the failure of the mainstream media to do their damn job and report on what should have been a scandal the equivalent of Watergate. That of course is the bombshell revelation only weeks before the November 2020 presidential election of the contents of Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop. One of the leading outlets which buried the story is the so-called “paper of record,” the New York Times. Now all of a sudden, the Times has decided to report the story as fact.

Kim Foxx, the Soros-supporter top prosecutor in Cook County, Illinois, is taking advantage of a new law in that state that allows prosecutors to identify prisoners whose further incarceration “no longer advances the interests of justice.” Like other Soros prosecutors, she is a critic of “mass incarceration,” and has big plans, as Patrick Smith of WBEZ writes: "Three Cook County prosecutors are assigned to work on resentencing motions, but they will only be working on the initiative part time. Foxx said her goal is to expand the program so there are dedicated staffers assigned and she said she eventually wants to loosen the criteria for eligibility.

The Islamic State (ISIS) is back. Five years after Donald Trump entered the Oval Office and quickly brought about the destruction of its caliphate in Iraq and Syria, ISIS is resurgent and wealthy. Could this have anything to do with Old Joe Biden’s misrule? Of course. To be sure, there are other factors at play as well. An Iraqi security official said Friday that “recent assessments … put the group’s reserves at between $25 million and $50 million.” That could be a conservative estimate: the Wall Street Journal reported in September 2020 that ISIS had “assets ranging into the hundreds of millions of dollars across the Middle East and Central Asia,”

A judge in Chicago ruled Friday that an attorney for Jussie Smollett might have defamed two Black brothers who testified that they participated in a fake racist and homophobic attack on the actor when she suggested they had been wearing "whiteface." The Chicago Tribune reported that U.S. District Judge Mary Rowland's ruling centers on comments Tina Glandian made on NBC's "Today" show in March 2019, shortly after the Cook County State's Attorney announced it was dropping charges accusing Smollett of lying to police about the incident two months earlier. Discussing how Smollett had told police that one of his attackers was white, Glandian said that the very dark-skinned brothers

Democrats are committed "to eliminating carbon pollution from power plants by 2035." They want banks to stop financing fossil fuel development by 2030, and they want to end the use of fossil fuels completely by 2050. In reaction to Russia's war with Ukraine, the Biden administration has stopped imports of Russian oil but is negotiating with Iran and Venezuela to make up the shortfall. The Democrat administration is panicking to assure the supply of a commodity that it wants to cancel. Wars have been fought, won, and lost because of oil. Joe Biden embarrassed himself (yet again) on Thursday, proving once again that he should never try to riff during a public speech. “I just want you to know, I may be Irish, but I’m not stupid,” Biden quipped during the Annual Friends of Ireland Luncheon. “I married Domenic Giacoppo’s daughter.” As it happens, the man who just insisted that he isn’t stupid confused his wife’s father and grandfather. “First Lady Jill Biden was born to Donald Carl Jacobs and Bonny Jean Jacobs,” explains The Daily Caller. “Her grandfather, Domenico Giacoppo, is from the tiny village of Gesso in Sicily.” Joe Biden has made many attempts at ad-libbing during speeches that have failed spectacularly.

Worse, neither will U2 frontman Bono. “I got this message this morning from Bono,” Pelosi told the attendees of the White House’s annual Friends of Ireland luncheon. She said that Bono “has been a very Irish part of our lives,” whatever that means. Before we get to the meat of the matter, let me admit my cultural bias right up front: I don’t care much for U2. I sense a disturbance in the force. (snip) I noted that Biden’s appalling performance as president would sooner or later—and probably sooner, given the ostentatious nature of his multifaceted failure—lead to his removal as president. I should have added that it wasn’t Biden’s performance per se that would lead to his downfall.
