We may not have a lot of strength showing from the White House when it comes to dealing with Russia, but it looks like we have some in Alaska.
Russian Duma member Oleg Matveychev, whom some have referred to as the Kremlin’s “spin doctor,” went on Russian state media and said they want reparations for the sanctions that the U.S. imposed upon them.
Matveychev then said he wants “the return of all Russian properties, those of the Russian empire, the Soviet Union and current Russia, which has been seized in the United States, and so on.” As we noted earlier, that included Alaska and even Fort Ross, California,

Good luck with that! Not if we have something to say about it. We have hundreds of thousands of armed Alaskans and military members that will see it differently. https://t.co/ji0Hiza1TE

“Good luck with that!” Dunleavy said in response to Matveychev’s demands. “Not if we have something to say about it,” he added. “We have hundreds of thousands of armed Alaskans and military members that will see it differently.”
That retort is almost good enough to offset the annoyance of the STUPID TW*TTER ECHO wherever tweets are cited. Most of us are almost numb to it by now; but every now and then it feels like another poke in the eye poke in the eye.

Alaska real life television programs like Life Below Zero show some very resourceful people hunting, trapping, and fishing, and living off the land. Their grocery store is the out of doors. All of them are armed, and since they depend on their weapons for both food and safety, their skills with firearms are necessarily considerable.
Putin appears to have gotten greedy and miscalculated on the resilience of Ukrainians. We don't know how long this war will last, but at the end of it Putin will be toast. Russian military weakness is evident. The Russians really do have something to worry about in the east, something a lot closer than Alaska or Ft. Ross, California: Siberia. Some of us will live to see China annex that. Russia will continue to shrink.

Oh boy, i was really worried alaska would be ceded to russia. Good thing we tossed back some tough talk from our brilliant leaders to quell the gambit.
Why don’t we cede the US to mexico to save all those nice people the difficulties of making the trip? They can just stay where they are, we’ll mail them their checks and build back better housing for them where they are- and of course get a few years’ supply of mail in ballots signed.

Everybody is armed in Alaska. There was a cop show that took place in Alaska. The police were very aware that most likely everyone they stopped was armed. Their approach was a bit more restrained since they did not want people pulling guns on them all the time.
Has Alaska invested in surface to air missiles? Since there is no land bridge, attacks would come from the air. Make sure you have some good fighter jets too. In case of high-altitude attacks.
Giving back Alaska would be preposterous, but our current President is very big on preposterous.

#7 Great bit of sarcasm, or was it? I wonder why the Climate change drama queens don't object to the filling up of our country by illegal and legal immigrants, most of whom are too poor in their former countries to be users of fossil fuels, but gaining prosperity, at out expense, begin to pollute with the rest of us.

It was called Seward's Folly. In 1867, the United States bought Alaska from the Russians for 7.2 million dollars. So, a deal is a deal. Unlike Russia and the Ukrainians, we didn't invade, and we didn't occupy.

After you have avoided poop and needles in San Francisco, put some $7 a gallon gasoline into your car and drive north to Fort Ross. Beautiful scenery and Fort Ross is well worth a visit. While you are in the area, visit Fort Bragg, not the army place in Kentucky, but the small town on Noyo Bay. The movie SUMMER OF 42 was filmed there. I was very young and my family was on vacation there while filming was in progress. The bumper and part of the trunk of our car appears in one scene.

Ft. Bragg, CA was also where that hilarious 1960s movie "The Russians Are Coming. The Russians Are Coming" was filmed.
