The battle over the nation’s children – from flagrant indoctrination to forced masking – has emerged in the national spotlight during the last two years, becoming a widely-known issue as parents take matters into their own hands after years of the left maintaining a monopoly on the educational system, doing their best to keep the leftist agenda moving forward. However, in the last year, the woke left’s agenda has been exposed, leading to massive conservative victories, as with Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s (R) monumental victory in Virginia last November. Parents are fired up

She's so right the media is unhinged over their loss of monopolistic messaging. Every damn outlet uses "Don't Say Gay Bill" in their reporting on the issue. And this name is complete democrat propaganda. Nothing more. And the name is repeated over and over and over again.

The true battleground for the soul of America is in the local schools! The 25 to 40 year-old crowd needs to wake up and get that point.
The saddest part is that the government has deliberately made it difficult to be a stay-at-home mom and for a family to live on one income.
Worse --- then her peers turn around and ridicule poor mom for not having a "real job"!

Well - - here I go again - - for the umpty-umpth time - - continuing to provide the best and ONLY solution to the education "problem."
Get the government - - at all levels - - federal, state, local - - completely out of education. No more government owned, operated, or subsidized schools. Let parents pick and choose among free market alternatives - - and pay for them.
Trying to "fix" government-run schools is a fool's errand. It cannot be done! Let free people create a free education marketplace. Anything else is doomed to failure.

The leftists were controlling the schools sixty years ago. It's just now most parents and taxpayers see what's been going on. The leftists became too comfortable spreading anti-American BS and race politics. Then Covid came along, and the people were able to see behind the curtain and see the socialist agenda.

This coming election every Republican candidate should force his/her opponent to publicly answer the question "Do you believe parents have a right to know and influence what the State teaches their children in school - yes or no".

I have a relative elected to a conservative district school board. The fascists planted a book in the high school library of a gross sexual nature and everyone was screaming at the conservative school board members that knew zip, zero, nada about it. The superintendent won't fire the librarians so the board voted to halt all purchases from the teachers union favorite book distributor. Now it is a 1st amendment issue. All a BS narrative so you can't win.

The teacher's union is losing more parents as the truth is surfacing...I had an awakening approximately 40 years ago in Chicago Illinois...when the revump Jackson decided to bus white privilege children from their neighborhood schools for hours into a marginal neighborhood...my five year old son would have spent one hour there and one hour back each day...and all the while he could have been walking 1/2 block to his neighborhood school...I pulled my children into a private Christian school and the rest is history...in fact...chicago emptied the public school system in a few short months...and saved the catholic school system...so parents can be affective...when challenged...

Thank you for posting this, another great seminar for those of us who no longer have children in school. Zeigler embodies the importance of school boards having conservative involvement. I think of my child's education (3rd grade into junior high), when the local school system pushed a program known as Values Clarification. My son didn't like it very much; said it was boring, and it was stuff he already knew. One thing came of it, though. My son at 50 is way more conservative than I ever thought I could be.

On the subject matter I'm in complete agreement. I see the impact in the worldview of nieces and nephews who are the product of defective "educations".
That said the article was VERY badly written. It was full of misspellings and incorrect word choices that literally change the intended meaning of entire sentences, so much so that they make no sense in the context of the piece and its intended message.
See "defective education".

I was a school board member for a decade. Even though I was unopposed I quit because I found that the system was not fixable.

Dittos, #3 et al. We learned during the COVID shutdowns that with current technology there is NO NEED for government schools. Vouchers and private school choice can serve everyone better .. except for teachers unions and illegals. The latter will be "weeded out" by those who financially support the private (including church) schools. Let the unions pound sand and the illegals go home.
Unions will strike? Good! Remember Reagan and PATCO.
