“CBS Evening News” anchor Norah O’Donnell is in third place in the ratings, but sources at the network gripe that she’s got a first-class attitude — even as she faces getting sidelined by her sharp-elbowed, bean-counting boss.CBS News co-president Neeraj Khemlani — who has been slashing costs in a bid to make the network profitable — is eyeing O’Donnell, who reportedly makes between $6 million and $8 million a year, and whose contract is set to expire this spring, sources told The Post.“The next big decision from him is revamping the ‘Evening News,’” said a CBS insider, who explained that the network can find a cheaper alternative
There are about 330 million Americans (citizens/residents of the U.S.). Basically, "no one" (about 6 percent combined) is watching the "news" on these three networks. We ignore them intentionally or out of habit.

Between CNN and CBS, MSNBC is going to have a stack of resumes to choose from.

Sounds like CBS has caught the "virus" that CNN has. The leadership is looking at the news as a business and finding that obnoxious and biased is not profitable.

Snarky? Toxic? Condescending? Ha! Replace rank amateur Norah with the Queen of Toxicity Herself, Jen Hacky Psaki. Watch your ratings go negative, if that's possible.

She's always been a nasty piece of work but then women in any career pursuit who know they're frauds and know that others know they're frauds usually adopt an attitude as a defense mechanism.
Not that I watch network news but it was left on a monitor, muted, in a public establishment and I occasionally glanced at it. Even with no sound it was obviously a flood of propaganda. Blood red graphics, huge letters, scary photos, etc.
At another place a sporting event had concluded on all the TVs. The bartender suddenly grabbed the remote and sprinted around changing the channel. 'When people here see Lester Holt come on they get very angry and yell at me.'

Part of Americas demise started when newsreaders began making millions of dollars per year. They lose touch with reality.

“Neeraj Khemlani”. Somehow I suspect middle American “God, family, and stars & stripes” values are not reflected in the news culture at CBS.

In the article it says that they tried to hire Brian Williams as her replacement and he turned them down.
Just the notion that they were going to hire Brian Williams makes me laugh! He's a liar and removed from the chair because is a liar. Those execs at CBS aren't that bright...

I have not watched the evening news in 50 years. I find the format boring, too many ads, appointment tv, and they never get to the promised teasers at the beginning. No thanks. As for O'Donnell, I am not getting into her wardrobe. Take a look at Lester Holt's skinny suits, and slick down NBC look, none of which does anything for him.

Hey CBS, I can read a teleprompter just as well as or better than Norah, and will do it for only a million a year. And I can guarantee your ratings will soar, even if people tune in only to laugh at me.

This is an early salvo in the Generation War to come. Up to this point, it was the simple application of a rule the Left has been mouthing and breaking since LBJ -- women deserve to not be treated like sex toys in the workplace. This is something new -- the Young Left taking down the Old Left because they're not radical enough.

Never heard of her, but the last time I watch CBS News, I think Dan Rather had just replaced Cronkite, and I didn't like or trust Rather, so stopped watching.
SeeBS has been off of our watching list for at least 35-40 years. Their people are irrelevant to me, decided that they were liars more than half a lifetime ago.

You get what you pay for, and if he thinks she is bad, just try putting his cheap alternative into her spot. I didn't realize who was running CBS News Division. Kind of explains a lot if they have a guy who can't handle women like Norah.

Who in blazes is still watching these horrible programs? The current 85+ crowd will eventually die off, and I cannot imagine Boomers will watch any of it.

My wife and I watch the various news programs while we eat every night. Gives us something to talk about. We don't actually like any of them, but they are followed by our local news on each channel. We DVR one of these three most weeknights, fast-forwarding through the ads. Their coverage of Biden & Kamelala's incompetence is minimalist, unlike the breathless way they used to cover their attacks on President Trump. They all definitely slouch leftward.
This O'Donnell woman is cocky, full of herself, and, as the article says, robotic in her reading of the news. They try to give her little personal comments about the news to make her appear friendly, but it comes off poorly, because she's a phony. I get a kick out of watching my wife gag and drop her fork a couple of times every O'Donnell newscast, often over O'Donnell's obvious bias in favor of any pro-female news item. My wife actually liked her predecessor, Jeff Glor. He was genuine.
O'Donnell proves the Peter Principle. She may be at the bottom of the ratings, but she's still overrated.
