Russia has made dire threats to the West that any military shipments to Ukraine will be seen as 'legitimate targets', prompting fears there could be an escalation of conflict that could suck in other countries. [snip] But Volodymyr Zelensky has slammed the West for its inaction, saying today he 'doesn't see any bravery from NATO' as he pleaded for more involvement from allies in peace negotiations and offered to pay for more anti-missile systems. In response, the US made lukewarm promises of taking 'diplomatic steps' to help the Ukrainian government.

Comments:

The Ukrainians have been correct again and again, besides being ferociously brave. Some conservative voices I have previously admired keep trying to turn the topic back to the Deep State and lies told to us by Democrats, concluding we do not have to address the fact of bombs falling on apartment buildings. But, I fear God. The death of the innocent is a compelling fact. I fear doing nothing, I fear Him.

What would you expect the Russians to do against military supply convoys inside Ukraine, as the Russians know that those military supply convoys are destined to the Ukrainians to fire and and kill Russian soldiers? The case is, does the NATO alliance want to get into a shooting war with the Russians by invoking Article 5 of the NATO treaty or not? Which could mean escalating the conflict to include nuclear weapons, first tactical, and then strategic?

Any arms shipments would be legitimate targets........in international waters, international airspace and in the territory that's at war. Things get dicey real fast when those shipments are sitting or traveling through a "neutral" country. Ukraine can make the same argument. Any supplies for the Russians are fair targets.

I am concerned that Putin has painted himself into a corner. A smart US President would find a way for him to save face before the war escalates out of control.

Six years ago, before Russia’s full-scale invasion of their country, the Ukrainians bet that a Hillary Clinton presidency would offer better protection from Russian President Vladimir Putin, even though he had invaded Crimea during the Obama-Biden administration, whose Russian policies Clinton vowed to continue. ... but Ukraine's bet backfired both when Trump won in 2016 -- and when Russia invaded after the Democrats regained power under Joe Biden. [snip] Ukrainian government officials intervened in the 2016 race to help Clinton and hurt Donald Trump in a sweeping and systematic foreign influence operation that's been largely ignored by the press.

The regimen of two initial doses plus a booster is not able to protect against variants and wanes too quickly in strength, Bourla conceded—making additional shots inevitable. “Right now, the protection that you’re getting from the third [shot], it is good enough—actually quite good for hospitalizations and deaths—it’s not that good
