Donald Trump was a great president, and Americans of all stripes are beginning to recognize that. Even his opponents will find it hard to argue against that conclusion without waxing stupid about a supposed “January 6th insurrection” that was “worse than 9/11,” or citing the futile “impeachments” where Democrats beclowned themselves in conducting show trials against him. (snip) Yet I am deeply thankful for him, and his service to this country. All of that said, if he loves this country and wants what’s best for it, he should not run for the presidency in 2024.

WASHINGTON — Some social media users suggest that soaring fuel prices in the U.S. aren’t the result of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, increased consumption or supply chain issues as daily life resumes after two years of stagnation brought on by the coronavirus pandemic. Instead, the flurry of Facebook and Twitter posts offer, without evidence, that a nefarious scheme is underway: President Joe Biden’s administration is intentionally driving up the price of gas to get more American drivers behind the wheel of an electric car. “$6.00 a gallon gas is how you get people to buy electric cars,” claims one popular

President Joe Biden ridiculously promoted his green agenda and advised Americans to purchase massively expensive electric cars so they will unrealistically no longer have to worry about buying gas while deterring “tyrants like Putin” from using fossil fuels as a weapon.“Loosening environmental regulations won’t lower prices. But transforming our economy to run on electric vehicles, powered by clean energy, will mean that no one will have to worry about gas prices. It will mean tyrants like Putin won’t be able to use fossil fuels as a weapon,” the president tweeted.“It should motivate us to accelerate the transition to clean energy,”

Legendary golfer Tiger Woods broke down in tears as he was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame on Wednesday, after being introduced by his 14-year-old daughter Sam. Woods, 46, didn't touch on any of his 82 victories on the PGA Tour or his 15 majors, or the eight surgeries he has endured along the way. Instead, he spoke of his parents taking out a second mortgage that allowed him to play the junior circuit in California, choking up when he mentioned his late father who told him he would have to earn everything he wanted.

Jussie Smollett, who faked a hate crime against himself in Chicago, was sentenced Thursday. Smollett was found guilty back in December, after he conspired with two men to make it seem as if Trump supporters had attacked him and tied a noose around his neck at 2:00 AM, in the middle of a polar vortex.
While he received an initial outpouring of support, including from Vice President Kamala Harris, it quickly became apparent that his story wasn’t adding up. Why was he out after midnight getting a sandwich in sub-zero temperatures? Why didn’t he call the police right away? Why did he leave the noose on until police got there?

The Senate passed a $1.5 trillion funding bill Thursday night to keep the government running through September and bolster both humanitarian and military efforts in Ukraine.
The legislation will head to President Joe Biden for his signature. The House passed it on Wednesday. The Senate approved the funding bill in a 68-31 vote.
Congress had to approve a spending bill by Friday to prevent a government shutdown. Lapses in funding can lead to furloughs of federal workers, hinder the economy and force the government to scale back services. Lawmakers passed a full-year spending bill after keeping the lights on for months through temporary continuing resolutions

We should have known better. I should have known better. What was billed as the “secure” alternative to Google’s data-siphoning search engine has turned out to be no better at belaying the leftist barrage of downvoting unacceptable speech. What good is valuing my privacy if you don’t value my free speech or my access to all viewpoints?
Joining countless other companies at destroying lives and freedom, DuckDuckGo announced via their CEO’s Twitter feed that the company would begin engaging in, effective immediately, the censorship of articles or sites that promote – gasp! – skepticism at the corporate media’s approved narrative.

Already under fire for racist behavior at school sporting events, New Prague students appeared to add more fuel to the blaze Wednesday, as a TV camera at the Minnesota high school hockey tournament in St. Paul caught students flashing what appeared to be a white power symbol. But the school district said the upper-elementary students flashing the "OK" hand signal had no idea it could be interpreted as a racist gesture.(Snip)Rob Young, a New Prague hockey parent, said the youngsters were playing the "circle game." In that game, a person makes the "OK" gesture, and if another person looks, they get a punch in the shoulder.

And now a little comic relief from our esteemed Veep, right when and where comic relief would be least appreciated. Kamala Harris flew to Poland to shore up NATO unity after a 72-hour fiasco in which the Biden administration encouraged and then refused a deal to send older Soviet-era MiGs to Ukraine. Poland, it should be noted, is on NATO’s eastern flank, a point which one would expect that Harris would get right the first time in her prepared remarks:Overall, the message of unity managed to eke out of these proceedings, but not with much clarity:

House Democrats are holding a retreat in Philadelphia today, trying to come to an agreement on how best to sell themselves to voters in the coming midterm election. NBC News reports that rather than uniting Democrats behind a common plan, the meeting seemed to emphasize their disagreements. Progressives think their best hope is to pass the Franken-BBB bill so they’ll have something to run on. Moderates think they just need to stop talking like preachy progressives.
Asked whether Democrats need to pass a Build Back Better-like bill to keep the majority, Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney, D-N.Y., the chair of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, or DCCC, replied: “No.”…

On Wednesday, Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida met with Disney CEO Bob Chapek over the phone after the latter requested a meeting to discuss the Parental Rights in Education bill that recently passed the Florida legislature. The media and the left at large have been hyperventilating over it because it dares to stop teachers from discussing “gender ideology” and sexuality with small children.
Perhaps Disney, given its massive investment in the state, believed it could bend DeSantis to its will on the bill and get him to veto the legislation? Whatever the goal was, it didn’t go as planned for the mega-corporation. DeSantis refused to change his position,
