KFC faces mounting pressure to shutter its 1,000 Russian restaurants after McDonald's, Coca-Cola, Pepsi and Starbucks all halted business there indefinitely because of Putin's invasion of Ukraine. The chain is the only significant US-owned fast food chain still operating in Russia, after its rivals announced plans to suspend business there indefinitely. KFC is owned by Yum! Brands, a Louisville, Kentucky-headquartered operation which is listed on the New York Stock Exchange, and whose CEO David Gibbs has been with the company since 1989. Yum! also operates 50 Pizza Hut locations across Russia.

Russia can nationalize all these stores, and they can write off their investments. That will be a huge writeoff for these business and will shorten their noses considerably to spite their faces. I would discount the stocks of all these companies by 20% or more for this fiasco. The companies may think it is temporary, but they are going to find out quick that Russians can fry chicken and hamburgers without them.

I love chicken but ever since I was a kid something in KFC has rendered it inedible to me. I though that I'd grown out of it until in my 20's a chicken combo had me doing a Joe Biden for a week. Needless to say I didn't know they were in Russia and if that's the case is taking away their fried chicken going to deter Putin? I really don't think he gives a cluck.

President Biden’s announcement that the United States will ban imports of Russian oil caused the price of crude to surge on Tuesday morning. However, the pain that Americans are set to feel at the gas pump could eventually be offset if Congress were to pass Biden’s Build Back Better agenda, a new study finds. An analysis released Tuesday by the nonpartisan think tank Energy Innovation finds that the climate change provisions of Biden’s now-defunct proposal, such as tax credits for buying new electric vehicles, would have reduced U.S. oil consumption by 2025 by half of the roughly 200,000 barrels of crude oil from Russia

Instead, the flurry of Facebook and Twitter posts offer, without evidence, that a nefarious scheme is underway: President Joe Biden’s administration is intentionally driving up the price of gas to get more American drivers behind the wheel of an electric car. “$6.00 a gallon gas is how you get people to buy electric cars,” claims one popular
