The national average price for gas has topped $4 a gallon for the first time in over a decade as gas costs continue to soar in the wake of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. As of Sunday afternoon, the national average of a regular gallon of gas was $4.009, according to AAA. That's up 8 cents from Saturday and up 40 cents from last week. The U.S. hit the $4 national average a day earlier than analysts expected. The record high for the national average is $4.11, set on July 17, 2008, according to AAA. But according to Biden and Psaki, we’re all supposed to take one for the Ukrainian Team and enjoy it! This whole war is a distraction technique used by every Democrat administration. For years people questioned if we allowed Japan to bomb Pearl Harbor so we could get into all of WWII. Lots of abuses by our government on its own.

I really really want to see the Democrats running campaign adds taking credit for driving the price of gasoline through the roof. Same for groceries. Maybe they can also force you to buy gasoline only on alternate days according to your license plate number. People can understand these issues much easier than they can the national debt, because it long ago got so large it doesn't seem real to anyone.

Adjusted for inflation, the previous high of $4.11, achieved under Compassionate George, works out to be around $5.12 per gallon, so we're not quite there yet. And just as Green George boldly refused to expand domestic drilling (notably in Bill Clinton's pristine ANWAR "nature preserve," thus declared on his way out of office), Dung Bidet also prefers to put the squeeze on the stupefied American public.

Two days ago I topped off my tank for $3.59/gal. Today, the same gas station is priced at $3.99/gal! I don't let my tank get below 3/4 tank in order to help lessen the sticker shock, but it is still a massive hit to my limited monthly finances. Leftist politicians have said for years that gasoline needs to be priced as high as European gas to force people to public transportation, bicycles, scooters, shanks mare and electrics. This is how they are doing it. Hopefully the unbearable pain the voters are suffering will take them out of office. I am retired and this does little to hurt me, but my former employees are going to be paying $50-60-70 more per week to get to work. This is terrible for any workers who commute. That spike back in 2008 was a short time gas shortage due to refinery outages. Months later the price had dropped to half that. This record is just todays point on a rapidly rising price curve. You can expect $4 gas to soon be a thing of the distant past and not in a good way. All we need to fix all this is DRILL, DRILL DRILL BABY! and get the pipelines flowing.

While there are alternatives to Russian oil, they would be insufficient or difficult logistically if the U.S. and its allies were to ban Russian energy imports, analysts said Tuesday. “There’s just no way even OPEC+ and even combined Iran and Venezuela could make up for it,” Vandana Hari, founder of energy intelligence firm Vanda Insights, told CNBC’s “Squawk Box Asia.” Russia’s war in Ukraine shows no sign of abating as the U.S. and its allies weigh banning Russian oil and natural gas imports. Oil prices spiked to highs not seen since 2008, though later pared those gains. There was also

Hawaiians, more than residents of any other state, will likely see higher gasoline and energy costs due to Russia's Ukraine war and the resulting soaring oil prices. “Isolated by the Pacific Ocean, Hawaii is the most petroleum-dependent U.S. state,” notes the U.S. Energy Information Administration. Overall, the U.S. consumes very little Russian oil. In 2021, oil from that country represented just 3% percent of total U.S. crude imports and just 1% of the oil processed by U.S. refineries, according to the American Fuel and Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM) trade association. But Hawaii is an anomaly among U.S. states. It imports several

In an attempt to stop using a name that some deemed derogatory, the ‘gypsy moth’ is no more and officials have determined a new name for the insect. The Entomological Society of America (ESA) announced that the new name has been selected for the moth species Lymantria dispar. It was voted unanimously to approve the addition of ‘spongy moth’ to ESA’s common names of insects and related organisms list. This completes a process that reportedly started back in July 2021. ‘Gypsy moth’ was removed from the list because officials determined that it was a derogatory term for the Romani people.

Oil prices are spiraling higher on supply concerns as the Russia-Ukraine crisis develops, and this could lead to demand destruction and an economic recession, according to an oil analyst. "I'm concerned that we don't have enough oil at all here, and we need to go to $120 to $150 [per barrel], and then we get into economic destruction," said Paul Sankey of Sankey Research. The firm sees oil trading between $100 and $150 per barrel until the situation in Ukraine is resolved, according to a research note. International benchmark Brent crude futures jumped 3.24% to $116.59 per barrel, after earlier

The White House on Sunday rejected the argument that increasing domestic oil production would help lower gas prices, as the cost of oil moves toward record highs. Crude oil prices rose as high as $130.50 a barrel on Sunday evening. White House press secretary Jen Psaki released a set of talking points on social media, arguing against a focus on boosting oil production in the United States. “It’s a reminder that real energy security comes from reducing our dependence on fossil fuels,” Psaki wrote, noting that Russia’s continued invasion of Ukraine was causing a spike in oil prices. Psaki pushed back against Republicans calling for more domestic oil production.

Within MAGA circles, talk is turning increasingly to impeaching Joe Biden after the midterm elections—assuming, of course, the Republicans retake the House of Representatives (which appears likely). Unfortunately, actual removal would require 60 votes in the Senate. Even under the most favorable scenario, it’s unlikely the GOP will pick up more than four Senate seats.  Nonetheless, with the strong likelihood the Republicans will take control of the House, impeaching Biden looks viable. Why? Well, for the same reason a Democrat-controlled House impeached Donald Trump—twice.  The Democrats used the impeachment process to persuade millions of middle-of-the-road and independent voters that Trump had done something terribly wrong. Of course, the Democrats’ two impeachment efforts were frivolous
