CDC relaxes Covid guidance allowing most
people to ditch masks if hospitalizations

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention relaxed its mask guidance on Friday, allowing most people to ditch their face coverings so long as Covid-19 hospitalizations in their communities remain low. Under the new CDC guidance, people are advised to wear masks in public areas indoors, including schools, when there’s a lot of virus circulation in their communities that could overwhelm local hospitals. More than 70% of Americans live in communities where wearing masks is no longer recommended under the new CDC guidelines, because hospitals are not under severe threat from disease there.

Gee, isn't that swell of the CDC to "allow" us to do what most of us have been doing for months?!?!?!? Other than for the doctor's office (a private business that I chose to go to and have to follow their rule to do that), I haven't worn a mask anywhere else in months. If I didn't love my doctor, I wouldn't have kept seeing him because of that. I live in a super lie-beral city (Austin, TX), and the majority of people even here at most stores and events are maskless. I guess the Demon-Rat National Committee must have seen the polling numbers for the mid-terms and informed the CDC that they have better change their "science"...

It's an election year and the peasants are restless. The CDC is no longer a scientific organization. It is a political organization. Completely untrustworthy. When are they going to end the vaccine mandate?

What does the author mean by "allowing most people to ditch their face coverings?" I can count on one finger the number of people I know that felt compelled to follow "orders" from a bureaucratic organization that overstepped its authority under two presidents.

The Democrats know that they are going to be squashed in the November election as among other things the public has caught up with their phony mask mandates. So chances are on March 1, as Biden reads off his State of the Union speech, that he will announce that the federal COVID mandates will be pushed down to the State Governors.

Living in a red state, we never had mandates of any kind. I gave up the masks, except for medical facilities which insist on them, in the summer of 2020. Yet I’m still shocked by how many people are addicted to them. I went to Costco on Tuesday and I would say that about 75% customers were masked. On Wednesday I went to a local museum and the curator who spoke to our group wore two masks. I think that there is a percentage of this country who have been so indoctrinated that they will never give them up. Me, I’ll take freedom, thank you very much.

Nothing has changed for the larger cities. The masks are still required many places. The health facilities still require them. The employees of national banks still are wearing them. The Democrats have way of getting their way.

The only place I had to wear a mask was at work, and now I don't have to. I am so happy I could dance a jig. I feel toward masks the way a lot of people feel toward clowns - they creep me out.

In 2016, voters in California approved a $1.2 billion program to build housing for the homeless. This is a fine idea, and Californians should be applauded for their compassion and generosity. But six years later, only 1,200 units have been built out of the 10,300 that have been paid for. One project under development would cost $837,000 for each housing unit, according to a report published by Los Angeles city controller Ron Galperin. Another 14% of units exceeded $700,000 in cost.

A new report reveals that the Biden administration attempted to stave off the Russian invasion of Ukraine as far back as last November. They did so by trying to share intelligence with Beijing. But the partnership between China and Russia was strong enough that the Chinese government informed the Kremlin as to what the US knew. It adds more to the questions surrounding what preventative measures President Biden undertook leading up to the invasion of Ukraine earlier this week.CORRECTION*

Only eight states haven't redrawn their congressional lines, which will be in place for a decade. With House Republicans needing to net only five seats to win a majority in the 435-member chamber, each seat this redistricting cycle has taken on outsize meaning. In addition to 44 states that have had to redraw their lines following the 2020 census, six states have low enough populations that they only have a single House member. So, overall, the redistricting process, when completed, will have affected 429 House seats.
