Five people were discovered dead inside a Colorado apartment — where a 4-month-old baby was also found alive — after what police are investigating as a drug-fueled party involving fentanyl, officials said. The bodies of three women and two men were discovered inside a unit at the North Range Crossings Apartments on East 104th Avenue, Commerce City Police Chief Clint Nichols said, the Denver Post reported. If five people had been shot it would be a headline-grabbing mass murder and the politicians would let out a collective "Harrumph!". But five people dying from fentanyl, transported over the border from Mexico and manufactured in China is no big deal.

Commerce City is a rough, working class town. Predominately Hispanic. The school district there is one of the worst in the region. The photos suggest this fentanyl party occurred at a Section 8 housing project. Has Section 8 ever benefited a community?

It is terrible that a baby just became an orphan. Sadly, fentanyl is quickly becoming a gene pool chlorinator.

Dope is for dopes. I still remember those ads back in the 80s. "This is your brain on dope." And they crack an egg into a frying pan....and you hear it sizzle as the white goes solid. Life is all about choices. Taking drugs is an extremely stupid, often deadly choice.

On one of the police shows, an officer that was arresting a perp merely touched fentanyl with a finger, and was immediately down. His death would have occurred a moment later had another cop not been there with Narcan ready to administer. It saved his life. Many police departments now require that street patrols carry this overdose antidote. The tiniest amount of this drug kills, equal to two grains of salt. A veterinarian of my acquaintance, who sometimes deals with the largest animals in the zoo, uses carfentanyl for anesthetizing elephants and other huge creatures. In the package with the carfentanyl is the antidote in case the vet accidentally gets some of the elephant juice himself.

With druggie parents, it is likely the baby is a drug-afflicted baby and will have developmental problems. An aquaintence took in her drug addict sister's two children. Long after she gave up her children, the druggie sister eventually overdosed and died. Both children had problems all through their childhood. One is homeless, addicted to crack and living in Kansas City, the other was kicked out of high school for violence, hospitalized for several years in a juvie mental facility and turned loose at 18. The last I heard, she was a stripper somewhere in the south.

I don't understand mixing cocaine with fentanyl. Two drugs with polar opposite effects. George Floyd mixed meth and fentanyl in overdose amounts for each. The meth kept him alive from the overdose of fentanyl and the fentanyl kept him alive from the overdose of meth. Eventually the battle in the body came to an end for one of the drugs and the other one wins out and he dies.

If not abortion, then fentanyl. What better way to cleanse the poor, the oppressed from the population. We know where fentanyl comes from. Like the terrorist camps and the hiding places for the leaders of the Taliban, ISIS, Al Quaida, etc., why don't we just bomb them? Is there a mutual understanding or something? Is our Government dealing as well?

Not feeling sorry for the orphan; feeling relieved. There is a long waiting list of want-to-be parents that have been vetted and are willing and able to provide a supportive and loving home. This kid just got a chance at a much better life... better than being raised by these drug-addled fools. Never forget that their sole aspiration was their personal entertainment. For this, they knowingly risked and lost their lives and left the rest of the world to clean up their mess. It's the zenith of selfishness.

Rising inflation, a continuing pandemic, a foreign policy misstep in Afghanistan and Democratic infighting all marred President Biden's first year, and now a majority of respondents to a new NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll say his first year was a "failure." In all, 56% said Biden's first year in office was a failure, versus just 39% who said it was a success. What's more, 54% said he's not fulfilling his campaign promises, and 52% said he has done more to divide the country than unite it, despite uniting the country being a pillar of Biden's 2020 presidential run. BRUSSELS — A new front line of conflict is taking shape in Europe, with enhanced levels of risk that raise questions about whether NATO will, or even can, respond effectively. Having invaded Ukraine and deployed its troops in a compliant Belarus, Russia has suddenly extended its military power to the borders of several NATO countries, including the Baltic nations. If Russia succeeds in taking over Ukraine and keeping bases in Belarus, as many experts now expect, its forces will extend from the borders of the Baltics and Poland to Slovakia, Hungary and northern Romania, making it significantly harder for NATO to

WASHINGTON -- The Biden administration is delaying decisions on new oil and gas drilling on federal land and other energy-related actions after a federal court blocked the way officials were calculating the real-world costs of climate change. The administration said in a legal filing that a Feb. 11 ruling by a Louisiana federal judge will affect dozens of rules by at least four federal agencies. Among the immediate effects is an indefinite delay in planned oil and gas lease sales on public lands in a half-dozen states in the West, including Wyoming, Montana and Utah. The ruling also will delay plans
