Mobile Seattle police precinct set up
to deter crime in Little Saigon

Seattle—A mobile Seattle police precinct set up at the corner of 12th Ave. and Jackson St. aims to deter crime in the area but for some businesses, the increased police visibility has come too late. Saki, the owner of Ten Sushi, located in a complex at the Little Saigon intersection, said she is already packing up to move. In December, Saki began posting Instagram videos of drug use, bonfires, erratic behavior and car break-ins at the business complex. She has boarded up her windows with a painted mural, and she keeps a stun gun handy. "You know, they try to come inside," Saki said.

Comments:

Homeless people are a very expensive luxury. Instead of slamming the lid on it, cities shoo them from place to place, allowing them to set up tents and smoke drugs outside restaurants until someone makes enough noise about it. Do they ever wonder who will fund city salaries and pensions once every taxpayer departs, leaving only the drug zombies and troublemakers?

Headline is somewhat misleading. The neighborhood is Vietnamese but I would wager the crime problem is being caused by darker people.

Strange isn't it. Foreigners come to this country, work hard, make a good living and are grateful that they escaped their commie background or commie country. How come African Americans are hardly ever able to do that? There are some who do go to college or run a business, you don't hear much about them. The other group you hear a lot about. In fact, the reason why many came to this country was to get rid of anything commie, whilst the losers in this country keep praising this lousy system!

As #2 posted, this is not the Vietnamese doing the crimes. It’s our well known demographic preying on the neighborhood.

The Biden administration has moved to make it more attractive for immigrants to sign up for welfare, laying down a marker just days before the Supreme Court is slated to take up the issue in a legal challenge seeking to restore stricter Trump-era rules. The Homeland Security Department released a proposal to raise the bar for becoming a “public charge.” Joining programs such as Medicaid won’t be counted against most immigrants, it said. Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said immigrants “will not be penalized for choosing to access the health benefits and other supplemental government services available to them.”
