Michael Sussmann’s Lawyers: It’s OK

On Feb. 17, attorneys for Michael Sussmann, the former attorney for the Hillary Clinton campaign, filed a motion to dismiss the criminal case pending against him in the D.C. district court. Special Counsel John Durham charged Sussmann in September 2021, in a one-count indictment, with lying to former FBI General Counsel James Baker(snip) the indictment charged that when Sussmann met with Baker on September 19, 2016, and provided him “white papers” and data files purporting to show the Trump organization had established a secret communications channel with the Russia-connected Alfa Bank, Sussmann falsely claimed he was not acting on behalf of a client.

Personally, there shouldn't be a law making it an offense to lie to LE. As we have seen, such laws are selectively enforced against the non-demo-commies, and you aren't under oath, anyway. What's so special about them? Of course, you should never talk to LE, ever, if they stop you or show up on your doorstep. As a wise lawyer once said, "I've never had a client talk himself into prison by keeping his mouth shut."

I'm not a lawyer, just a self taught 'mere arbitrator' but Sussman's arguments stink. I also believe that there will be superseding indictments, tying Sussman to other actors in the criminal conspiracy to obstruct justice. It should be fun to watch. And I am waiting for the putrid Podesta names to show up, along with the name of the dead Seth Rich. ( a girl federal district court judge gave me that label, mere arbitrator, when she injected herself into a set of complicated sexual discrimination cases in a county prison. I resolved the matters, after making fun of the girl judge in my award. It felt good. to do that.
