Grocery runs have gotten more expensive. Anyone who has taken a look at their receipts in the last few months can tell that prices have gone up on nearly everything from chicken wings to milk as inflation levels reached heights we haven't seen in decades. The cost of food that people eat at home rose 6.5% in December compared to the same month the year before. That's well above what people were used to. Over the last 20 years, the cost of supermarket purchases rose about 2% a year on average. "If you are not careful, you are going to have a full cart and be shocked at how much

Thanks for the helpful tips, but I think I'm about to start my own 'smash and grab' crew targeting Kroger. It's the latest thing! Everyone's doing it!

What's this biz about a 6.5% price increase? Everything in my area is up 25 to 60%. A product my wife enjoyed used to cost me $3.99. Now it costs me $5.99.
They are either lying or failed math.

Two words to lower your grocery bill: Stop eating.
That’s what they want, is it not?

This advice sounds like it was given by Jimmy Carter.

Just eat half as much food, you'll save a lot....as you starve to death.

I read this article and it is more common sense than communist. However, they didn't talk about buying in bulk.
I bought a Foodsaver years ago. I can get bulk packages of ground beef from Costco for $3.99/lb. I take it home, separate it into 1lb packages, run it through the Foodsaver and throw it into the freezer. I do the same with bulk packages of chicken parts and cuts of beef. Separate them into meal sized portions and freeze them. My freezer is stocked this way and there are always options for dinner.
As to oats, I bought a 5lb bag of oats for around $5 on sale at Costco. I used it tonight as a binder for meatloaf which was delicious.

30 years ago it was all about clipping coupons and saving enough money to pay for your groceries completely... of course they never explained how much it cost for all the subscriptions to mags and rags that printed such coupons!

Moving out of state would solve that problem because libtards in Minn will still vote Demtard and thus nothing will change for the better

The advice isn't bad but they're wrong about the price increase. If it was just 6.5% I don't think I'd notice but most items I buy is at least 40% higher.

Given the sorry state that Minneapolis is in, I would not trust their judgement on anything. The population there may have problems finding fresh monkey meat, rodents or snake tail but that's not a universal problem.
First of all, do the math on how much higher the prices are at stores that offer those discounts on gasoline and you will find that you are paying more for the gas in the long run, Also, those cents-per-gallon expire very soon so if you don't drive all that much you lose them.
Ignore the $20 steaks and find cheaper cuts of meat that you can cut up and combine with rice and some fresh vegetables and soy or teriyaki sauce for a variety of good Asian dishes. Noodles or pasta with vegetables and olive oil are a healthy diversion, add chicken or shellfish as desired. A good tuna casserole or a lasagna can feed the family for a couple of meals. In farm country you can find local meat markets that have not been hit with the current supply chain problems.
Buy a whole chicken, which is much cheaper per pound than the cut-up boneless skinless pieces that you usually buy and make a big pot of chicken soup. It will last for days and be a good side for sandwiches. Everybody knows how long a big baked turkey lasts.
Just wait until our truckers drive to Washington. The embarrassment and pain to the Biden Boondoggle will be worth a little belt-tightening at home.
