This is why the race card is losing its power. When you can stand there as a convicted felon and insist that the reason you are expelled from a State Senate is because you’re black you really have no business even talking about race. You are officially clueless.

The dumocrats have demanded expulsion of pubbie members of the legislature for far less egregious transgressions. But this woman is special, of course, being a member of the privileged class. And or course she is innocent, and even if she weren't innocent it was all due to the legacy of slavery and Jim Crow and white privilege etc etc etc......

And so the long and proud tradition of Memphis black Democrats elected to office being convicted of felonies continues. I lived in Memphis back in the late 80s and watched the transition of Democrat and felonies emerge. Now I will admit, in 1988, I was one of two votes for Jesses Jacksons Jrs. in the Democrat primary. I have always wondered who the other person was. I was just doing my patriotic duty to ensure the most unelected Democrat won the nomination. Four years later I took it far enough to be offered to be the Paul Tsongus' President election chairman in LA. I knew then Clinton was gonna win that nomination.

I knew it wouldn't take long to find in the article:
''She said the proceedings were an attack on "black leadership, black women, and the black vote."
This crap is so tiresome, please try something original for a change.

I wonder why Newsweak left the phrase "For Felony Conviction" off the end of the headline?
Trying to stir up a little racial strife, chumps?

It's raaaacist, and it's the fault of those Trump loving white supremacists lynching a poor black woman for trying to better herself.
I'll do the S/O in caps on that one!

We’ll come on you all. First, the money was not found in her freezer and second it was used on a wedding. Taking donated money an appropriation for self justfed causes, just like Lori light foot saying she could violate Covid lockdown salon policies cause she was the mayor in front of cameras and had to look good!.

A valuable precedent has been set here, not just in legal terms but Republicans actually growing a set. We could clean up DC if we accept the fact that corruption is corruption and is not a black or white, Democrat or Republican thing. We must deal with it anywhere we see it, America deserves better.

I was happily reading the article to search the reason for her expulsion then halfway in I saw the word 'racism' I no longer had to guess her race. Further into the read I saw the wonderful person of color. Those darn white supremist did it again to another downtrodden POC. MAGA
