Republican Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin visited a Safeway in Alexandria on Friday to talk about his plan to eliminate the state’s grocery tax, thus helping people who are currently being crushed by Joe Biden’s inflation on everything including food.
From The Hill:
“Today is about tackling the high costs in Virginia — the high costs I believe are unnecessarily borne by those that can afford it the least,” Youngkin said.
“People talk about the supply chain disruption, but we’re just seeing added costs in the supply chain as well,” he added.
Youngkin plans to cut the 2.5 percent tax on groceries in Virginia as well as the gasoline tax.

“Bring out the best.” If you’re unfamiliar with the famous slogan, take a closer look at the featured image, above. Hellmann’s mayonnaise has been “bring(ing) out the best” in America for more than 100 years.
Except on December 17, 2020, in rural Iowa, that is. [Tweet]
Not only did 29-year-old Kristofer Erlbacher kill 30-year-old Caleb Solberg with his pickup truck; he struck him once, turned around and hit him again, then came back and ran over him to make sure he was dead.
Oh, and Erlbacher also called Solberg’s brother to tell him he had just killed Solberg.
As reported by the Twiner Herald, Solberg, Erlbacher,

On the most recent episode of Life, Liberty & Levin on Fox News, host Mark Levin blasted Democrats and the media for giving us Joe Biden and said they knew “damn well” he wasn’t capable of handling the presidency.
“You, Democrats, you people in the media, you people in academia. You brought us Joe Biden. You knew damn well, he was incapable of doing what a President needs to do, for a whole variety of reasons,” Levin said. “You knew that he was not mentally fit to be President of the United States. You knew that experientially, he has been a disaster when it comes to foreign policy.

How in the world George Soros ended up addressing the Hoover Institution, I’ll never know. But he did so on Monday, as reported by rt.com and several other outlets. And he had harsh words for China and Xi Jinping. [Video]
Admittedly, in the age of the internet, Soros is a thing that at times seems to be more legend than man. During my radio days, I had numerous guests claim that he was a Nazi collaborator who turned in his fellow Jews in to save himself in Hungary. That in and of itself is a pretty hefty claim,

Progressives have really lost their minds over Sens. Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) and Joe Manchin (D-WV) failing to bow to every whim of a liberal agenda, mostly over Build Back Better and the filibuster. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has become particularly vocal as of late in going after them.
As Matt covered on Tuesday, Manchin has doubled down on his opposition to Build Back Better, which prompted a suggestion from AOC that people in her community "wait out the cold" on "Manchin's yacht." [Tweet]
The tweet meant that AOC was breaking her hiatus on Twitter, which she had claimed was due to how "there's a lot of negativity on there."

Tesla will recall 54,000 electric cars in order to disable a self-driving feature that prevents them from coming to a full stop at intersections with stop signs.
The Teslas being recalled have an autonomous “rolling stop” function in which they move slowly through a stop sign without coming to a full halt. In most states, vehicle are required to come to a complete stop at intersections outfitted with stop signs.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said the self-driving feature endangers driver safety since “failing to stop at a stop sign can increase the risk of a crash.”
According to the NHTSA, Tesla introduced the rolling stop functionality

Payroll firm ADP says the US lost more than 300,000 jobs in January, and omicron is taking the blame.
December’s impressive jobs gains were also revised downwards.
“Unexpectedly” is the code word once again, as Wall Street had predicted the economy would produce 200,000 new jobs instead.
January is the first month since December 2020 that the economy has lost jobs.
Despite White House boasts that 2021 produced more jobs than any other year, we’re still more than 3.5 million jobs shy of where the economy was in February 2020, before the demonstrably useless COVID shutdowns. [Tweet]
The Biden economy hasn’t been creating new jobs. it has been recovering needlessly destroyed jobs —

Inflation is the worst in 40 years.
The price of cars is up 37%. Gas is up 49%.
During the last few years, as politicians spent ever more money, experts told us not to worry.
Jerome Powell, chair of the Federal Reserve, said inflation would be “transitory.”
Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said, “I don’t anticipate inflation is going to be a problem.”
Now she says, “I’m ready to retire the word transitory.”
What went wrong?
“Big corporations have taken advantage,” says Rep. Ted Lieu.
Sen. Elizabeth Warren tweeted: “greedy corporations are charging Americans extra.” It’s “price gouging.”
This is nonsense.
“Greed is constant,” says economist David Henderson in my new video. “If it’s greed, how do we explain prices falling?”

Susan Sarandon seemingly shared a message to Twitter comparing cops gathered to pay their respects to fallen NYPD officer Jason Rivera to fascists on Wednesday.
The image Sarandon posted featured a tweet written by podcaster Danny Haiphong.
The original tweet showed a photo of police officers lining the New York City streets and read, "I’m gonna tell my kids this is what fascism looks like." [Tweet]
Sarandon's photo added the words, "So, if all these cops weren’t needed for CRIME that day, doesn’t that mean they aren’t needed ANY day?"
It is unclear if the photo was made by Sarandon or a re-shared post.

You’ve all seen them. Maybe some of you have them. They’re the identifying marker of a member of the New Woke Order and they are displayed in gardens across America where they stand with virtuous pomposity that demands you notice: someone in this house is better than you. I’m here to tell you to stop it. You’re obnoxious. [Tweet]
I think we can trace the woke patrol back to whoever started manufacturing these things. If it’s not an election year, political signs don’t belong in your yard, littering the view and polluting the atmosphere.

The tally for how much the federal government spent to combat COVID-19 is now estimated to be $5 trillion. It is more than the combined costs of World Wars I and II. The left is celebrating that politicians in Washington saved us. Really? From what exactly?
Two years later, it is time for an honest assessment. Could things have worsened for the country if the government had spent nothing and done nothing? What would have happened if we had not shut down our businesses? Our churches, schools and restaurants. Our parks, basketball courts and playgrounds.
Would the public have made worse decisions regarding protecting its health

COVID-19 may be a novel virus, but it is proving itself a virus nonetheless by doing what viruses are wont to do — surviving. And in order to survive, a virus can’t afford to keep killing its hosts. It adapts. It weakens in ferocity as it increases in transmissibility. Mankind’s curious nature has produced many a vaccine to help halt a viral event. Smallpox comes to mind. The COVID vaccine hasn’t produced that success yet, although as this particular vaccine technology advances, it will surely get there in the future.
