The Biden administration has announced plans to crack down on illegal ghost guns and firearms trafficking along the East Coast “iron pipeline” — just in time for the president’s visit to New York City on Thursday to discuss surging gun violence.
President Biden is expected to address the new effort when he and Attorney General Merrick Garland meet with Mayor Eric Adams and Gov. Kathy Hochul later Thursday.
Among the slew of measures is the Justice Department’s new National Ghost Gun Enforcement Initiative, which aims to clamp down on homemade firearms that lack serial numbers used to trace them.

Democrats don’t care about shootings except in terms of exploiting the issue as a justification for a crack down on individual liberties.

Yeah, yeah, whatever. It will MAKE NO DIFFERENCE.
They want to have every honest person disarmed. That makes their thuggery safer for them.

Good point, Poster 2. Gestapo tactics are easier if citizens are disarmed.

Yep, he'd know about ghosts, almost being one himself, at least with his place in the White House...

Scary ''ghost guns'' is only a stupid liberal euphemism that is used to make politicians look busy while doing absolutely nothing to address the problem. The problem is that criminals are not being deterred by the police, because liberal DAs refuse to prosecute and releasing repeat offenders to commit more crimes.
Criminals are not making ghost guns. They steal existing guns or buy them illegally from other criminals.
In high profile arrests of repeat offenders they often have criminal records containing multiple weapons and drug convictions. Yet, for some reason they are still walking around armed and committing more crime.

What's an "illegal ghost gun?" People have been building their own guns for centuries. The problem that gun-grabbers have is the lack of manufacturer's to hold liable or to seize records to seize guns they manufactured.

And what percentage of crimes are committed by criminals with "ghost guns"?
Does anybody know? Or care? I would bet it is a small percentage, perhaps a fraction of a percent.
As another poster stated, why bother with a "ghost gun" when it is much easier and quicker just to steal one or buy one from another thug, no background checks needed.

When will the crack down on the illegal ghost gun owners / shooters be coming? Stop focusing on the inanimate guns. Focus on the CRIMINALS who use the guns to commit their crimes. Once you catch the criminals, don't let them go!

How about cracking down on gang bangers, that are responsible for almost all of the major gun violence in every major Demon-Rat controlled city?!?!?!?
No, that would be racist since those gang bangers all tend to be minorities (especially one particular race). So instead, let's make life harder, and take away the Constitutional rights of law-abiding gun owners (who are responsible for far less than 1% of all gun violence anywhere). Lie-beral "logic" at its most hypocritical!!!!!

In the mid-size city I live in, it’s my experience that a lot of guns are stolen from irresponsible owners who leave their guns in their parked cars overnight. It happens here all the time and averages over 50 a week.

Addendum: Just exactly how many of these guns have been seen for this $300 million boondogle? Not a single homemade weapon pictured in the article...not one.

Did you hear Biden say one word about the irresponsible and violent (Black) criminal who murdered the two police officers? I did not think so either!

Ghost guns.
Saturday night specials.
Assault weapons.
ALL just bullhockey hype about very ordinary, perfectly legal guns. They want to slice off some kind of subset of guns and then demonize those guns and try to get special restrictions on those "bad guns".
No guns are bad, other than inaccurate or unreliable ones. They are tools. The only good or bad comes from the user.

Huge numbers of older firearms were never made with a serial number.
I own some. Nothing even a little bit unusual about them. They are perfectly legal. If sokd thru a dealer, tge paperwork says "NSN", for No Serial Number.
And making your own firearms has always been legal. I made my first in the 1960s. And, shockingly, it has no serial number.
I know a few folks who have made pistols or rifles themselves.
It's not a big deal. But since they want NO guns in private hands, this angers and frightens these government bureaucrats, this idea of people making their own guns, without permission from the totalitarians in DC.
I think it's freedom.

Good grief. How many criminals would ever take the time to order the parts and then assemble a "ghost gun?" I would guess none. This not even remotely a problem but it won't stop the left from making up stories. This is nothing more than total BS, but I guess they think some stupid liberals will believe it.

Most of the criminals with the scary "ghost guns" don't have enough IQ or common sense to know how to assemble or build one of the scary "ghost guns". They're lucky that they even know which end of the gun the bullet comes out of.
