Well, it turns out things haven't gone so good for wokester company, Penzey's Spices, which ran a 'Republicans are racist' campaign for .. I am not sure what purpose, it wasn't business.
According to Fox News:
A Wisconsin-based spice company that made headlines earlier this month when its CEO sent an email to customers accusing Republicans of racism is now asking people to buy gift cards after hemorrhaging tens of thousands of customers.
Earlier this month, Penzeys Spices CEO Bill Penzey renamed the extended Martin Luther King, Jr. Day weekend to be "Republicans are racist weekend" in a newsletter to customers.

The ceo / owner / jerk will use this as an opportunity to hunt down and purge any insufficiently idea logically "impure" staffers.

I saw this about three days ago and I've read at least four articles about it. It never gets old. The whole story just puts a smile on my face.

Just think about all the now wasted energy used to produce these spices. Go woke, go broke.

I've quit drinking Coke products because I'm too White, I order from the Spice House or King Arthur Flour Co., haven't watched even 5 minutes of NFL or the NBA, don't shop at Target and refuse to drink Starbucks. So far, I've survived in surprisingly good health, both mentally and physically! This article made me laugh, and laughter is good for you. Liberals are always calling for boycotts, so this karma is great.I will never understand a business that will denigrate a majority of its customers, and then cry when it loses their business. Virtue signaling liberals are a poor customer base to depend on for your livelihood.

I saw a report this morning that he's closing his retail store in Cincinnati, IIRC. The story made no mention of his stupidity, of course, or it's impact on his sales.
It's Business 101 - it takes work to attract customers, and it's almost impossible to lure back customers who have left. He can tout his email gains all he wants; that's virtue signalling unless they buy enough to make up the difference. He lost 40,000 that he can verify, but that doesn't include all the people who didn't bother to unsubscribe.
As this article mentions, there are far too many places to buy spices from nowadays. He doesn't have the niche market he did when he started. Personally, I buy from the Amish. They buy in bulk and repackage it. I can get an 8oz glass jar of spices cheaper than the tiny McCormick stuff in the grocery store, and far less than his prices.

Maybe I'm crazy, but the spices in the grocery store work fine for me (and I cook most of the food my DH and I consume). What's the big deal with Penzy's?

Never mind the politics. Penzey's is so called quality spices going stale in little jars just like Kroger's.
Find a well stocked bulk seller and get to know the owners and staff. I deal with a Mexican owned outfit at my local farmer's market. I get spices, herbs and a good deal of education. If I need a little bit of something unusual they will happily provide a teaspoon "free sample".

Does Penzey even know that MLK was one of those republicans he is smearing? His sister runs a better and smarter spice company which deserves to be supported. She is in no way woke like her idiotic brother is.

I seem to recall his store in Minneapolis burned in the BLM riots. I've a friend who swears by his mixes and the name Penzey's jumped out at me in the news report. Does anyone else remember that?

I grow and dry a lot of herbs during the summer months. I grow some in the vegetable garden (dill and borage) which bring in the beneficial insects to the garden. Grow other herbs in the herb garden -- they grow better in the ground and in an area that you don't fertilize too much. If you fertilize them, they grow too fast and bolt and are too willowy. They like good drainage and plain soil - they are not too picky. Some you might want to grow in pots if to keep them contained and not taking over (the mints). I don't buy too many spices.

Unfortunately it will probably turn out to be a shrewd marketing move. He owns a small company that most people had never heard of. He will now attract leftist customers from around the country.

Re #17....I had to chuckle a bit over the "the mints" comment. Wow....my mother planted peppermint and spearmint many years ago in the garden in rural Virginia. Holy cow! They grow like crazy. I love grabbing a couple of leaves and rolling them in your hands to get the smell, ore chewing for flavor burst and they are fine for cooking....but how much mint do you really need?
Mints can take over a whole area very quickly. But, pretty green plants, at least.
I started eating fresh terragon with goat cheese in Georgia (country) and Armenia, and it was delicious. A few green sprigs wrapped around a half thumb sized piece of cheese kinda like feta, as an appetizer, is common in these countries, and excellent.
And they make a bright green Tarkhuna carbonated drink which is flavored with terragon (they call it tarkhun). I know it sounds really wierd, but I found it to be like no other drink and excellent. Since I don't like liquor or wine, I often had that with dinner when there on business. And always a 'greens' platter as appetizer, fresh terragon, 'feta-ish' cheese and spring onions was the usual mix, in season.
I'm no herb expert, but it can be an interesting topic, and how they are used in other countries is interesting.

I would love to boycott this jerk, but my wife's cooking has never needed much spicing up. Salt & pepper are her mainstays, and when she's feeling kinda sexy she might give it a few shakes of some garlic powder. I'm amazed to hear there are whole stores devoted to selling commodities that came into existence to cover the taste of rancid meat.

I'll bet my SS check this jerk didn't gain favor from the black community on the special Martin King Day. I don't see the purpose except Penzey has some deep pent-up rage against Republicans in general to say this. Maybe he didn't breast feed enough when he was born who can figure this stupidity out. The spice business is very active and competitive this buffoon accomplished something with his statement to satisfy himself, but he shouldn't complain about it now.

Re #23. The left, that loving and oh-so- tolerant group, seethes with hatred for anyone who disagrees with them. They have segued into a genuine hate group that not only feels that they are the wise and good but will not listen to any opinion other than theirs. It really appears psychotic in a lot of ways. Look at their comments and posts...they openly espouse locking up or killing anyone who disagrees with their vax narrative. Look at the screaming women who go ballistic if they see a sign or person displaying a different opinion. Frightening in many ways. These people have become lethally dangerous.
