Elon Musk heaps more praise on trucker

Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s fascination with and support of Canadians gathered in Ottawa to protest vaccine mandates continued over the week. Musk first took to Twitter Jan. 27 and praised truckers en route to the nation’s capital. They are opposed to a federal vaccine mandate that requires them to be innoculated before they can return to Canada after a trip to the United States, which has similar regulations. After two days of demonstrations, desecration of the National War Memorial and the Terry Fox statue and general gridlock caused by tractor-trailers parked throughout the city, Musk returned to Twitter to offer praise.

I wonder how many of "the elites" who live in cities and are trying to take away our freedoms understand that if truckers decided all at once to just STOP delivering food or anything to the big, leftist cities how quickly those cities would devolve into total anarchy and starvation? Two weeks, max. It turns out that our primary transportation is controlled by tens of thousands of individual truck drivers. Most of them are good, hard working, patriotic Americans (and Canadians). If they decide that they just don't support what is going on, they hold tremendous power in their hands on those steering wheels and gearshift levers.

The Lieberal Party, a cheap chinese copy of the Demorats, is no doubt eagerly on the phone to the evil Pelosi minions, anxious to learn how they turned a legal, non-violent peaceful protest into a world class anti American movement so they can jail hard-working, law-abiding Canadian citizens on BS charges and ruin their lives, ala 1/6. Who would have thought you would find American patriots in Washington DC? Yup, but they are all rotting in DC jails. Some people mellow as they age, and some, mainly Demorats and their cheap chinese knockoffs, get more evil and sleazy. The gates of Hell await...

Ilya Shapiro, who is facing an aggressive smear campaign for a series of tweets about racial preferences in Supreme Court nominations that he acknowledges were poorly worded, has been placed on administrative leave from his new post at Georgetown Law pending an “investigation into whether he violated [the university’s] policies and expectations on professional conduct, non-discrimination, and anti-harassment,” according to an email that Bill Treanor, the dean of the law school, sent to the student body today. Podcaster Joe Rogan has apologized to Spotify, while also addressing the controversy around his podcast. Musicians Neil Young and Joni Mitchell recently boycotted the service for continuing to host “The Joe Rogan Experience, which has been accused by medical professionals of spreading Covid misinformation. Both musicians have since pulled their music libraries from Spotify. “I want to thank Spotify for being so supportive during this time and I’m very sorry that this is happening to them and that they’re taking so much heat from it,” Rogan said Sunday. He also apologized to Young and Mitchell.

Things are going so bad for the Biden administration that for the second week in a row, one of the liberal Sunday morning talk shows was forced to lead with terrible polling numbers for Biden and the Democrats. On Sunday morning ABC's This Week, anchor George Stephanopoulos led the show with the disastrous polling numbers. "We begin with our brand new poll with IPSOS. It shows big challenges for President Biden heading into this year’s midterm elections. Three out of four Americans are pessimistic about the state of the economy" Stephanopoulos began the show announcing. Adding: "Only 29 percent

James "Snakehead" Carville, the loathsome but successful Democrat operative who gave us Bill Clinton in 1992, had a few words for Democrats on their failing fortunes. Speaking with leftist Vox, he generally warned that Democrats had better do what he did when their party was in disarray and falling apart 25 years ago -- scrap the crazed leftwingery and tack center. What's more, they'd better focus on electing more Democrats, if they want to get what they want, rather than bullying the ones they've got now (although he made an exception for Sen. Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona). He even defended Joe Manchin
Police Officers Attacked in Five States

At least 10 police officers in five states — mostly in big cities — have been attacked in the last eight days. What’s especially troubling is that several of the incidents appeared to target police officers specifically. Both criminal justice reform advocates and police unions blame the same thing: a violent crime crisis. Reformers think the violent crime spree is the result of inequality and police brutality. The cops think it’s due to lax prosecutors and spineless politicians. Whatever the reason, the number of lives lost is rising. USA Today: Two officers died after a shooting in New York City last Friday, two were shot near St. Louis on Wednesday, three

He was preceded by other speakers including Texas state Attorney General Ken Paxton, who noted what great success his state has been having against the Biden mandates. When Trump took the stage, he called out what a massive crowd it was. Trump seemed in great form, with a lot of energy. Nine months from now, the people are going to send a message to the radical Democrats in D.C., Trump said, talking about the midterm elections. He praised Texas for being about family, freedom, God, and country. “And oil and guns,”

McWhorter: It's time to end affirmative action 19 replies

Earlier this week the Supreme Court took up affirmative action by agreeing to hear challenges to the admissions process at two US universities. Today, NY Times‘ columnist John McWhorter has a piece arguing that it’s time to end affirmative action, though he still favors programs that give preference to students based on income. When affirmative action was put into practice around a half-century ago, with legalized segregation so recent, it was reasonable to think of being Black as a shorthand for being disadvantaged, whatever a Black person’s socioeconomic status was. In 1960, around half of Black people were poor.

oe Biden doesn’t seem to know how to deal with the situation between Russia and Ukraine. Indeed, everything he does just seems to heighten the tension and move the dial more toward war between them. He threw Ukraine under the bus early on, by waiving sanctions on the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, which helped Russia, increased EU dependence on Russian oil, and hurt the United States and Ukraine. Then Biden seemed to greenlight aggression with careless words, by saying U.S. troops would be off the table in December and then talking about “minor incursions” not causing a significant response in January, then having to scramble to clean that up.

President George W. Bush commuted Libby’s sentence, but despite the urging of then-Vice President Cheney, he declined to issue a formal pardon for his aide.
