Few things delight me more than watching climate cultists with Big Plans to change the way we live running headlong into reality and discovering that their ideas just don't work. The story of Heidi Harmon, who stepped down from being mayor of San Luis Obispo, California last August to battle climate change, is one to savor. (snip) After multiple attempts to find a working charging station in San Jose, Harmon realized charging the car would take up to seven hours and there was no way she could make the rally. Harmon posted multiple videos about her difficulties in traveling in an all-electric vehicle. She discusses calling the police

Perfect. Nothing can better illustrate how much more elite our elitist leaders are than this video of Heidi Harmon discovering that electric vehicles actually need, ummm, you know, electricity that is hard to find when you really, really need to get somewhere.

A friend of ours got a Tesla as a company car for several months. During that time, he and his wife decided to take a 400-mile trip to another state. What they discovered was that an 400-mile, 8-hour trip in a gasoline car became a 12+ hour trip in a Tesla with frequent recharging stops. They didn't wait until the battery was dead, but instead stopped frequently enough that their rechargings only took 45 minutes or so.
Another point - he never parked it in their garage, and later told us that he knew someone who's Tesla set the house on fire.

Perfection. The growing frustration and bewilderment is so funny. It’s hard to virtue signal when you can’t charge Your signaling device. Will she learn anything from this? Absolutely nothing. Idiocrasy is strong in this one.

Did the people of San Luis Obispo actually vote for this air head valley girl idiot? The 'app ranger' was in quite a quandary I would say. What a doofus and those glasses!

I can't wait to see what she does when a California rolling black out hits. I hope she lives in the hills where they have wildfires. The Laws of Economics and Physics don't care whether you think it is fair. I am sure she will demand California pass some boondoggle legislation to fix her stupidity.

Asking someone to send a helicopter to rescue her? Seriously? Why not send the 101st Airborne? How arrogant and self-involved can you get?

It is an amazing video. Beyond belief. The Gullibles believe that the world was made for their convenience and are clueless that it’s convenient only to the extent of a successful civilization.
Really lady, you should form a “transitional assistance” volunteer group to assist electric car owners to find charging stations. Until they are as ubiquitous as you think they should be.
That would be “doing the right thing.”
But you prefer buying what you of as stylish sweat shirts and attending rallies for you social networking.
How could she (i) have been elected, (ii) be so oblivious to her image of uselessness?

Another brainless moron who would gladly ORDER all of us to do the impossible or impractical "to save the world".
I wonder if she learned anything? Probably not.
And "in the heart of Silicon Valley" she had these problems, how about in Elko, Nevada or Lone Pine, CA, or Topeka, KS?
Damned know it all morons who would "save the world" while wrecking everything.

I'm still wondering where you can get a gallon of electric so you can get to the next charging station.

She's a total idiot. The car with auto navigate you to the nearest available super charger. There are zillions of super chargers in that area. It's like 2 buttons then just follow the driving directions.
Yes, a long trip in a Tesla is a bad idea in many places but that area is not one of them.

Way back in 2012, I was on a business trip to the UK and caught a radio show on which 2 guys recounted their experience in a test drive of an electric car from London to Edinburgh. It was hilarious. This was in November and the guys could not run the heater in the car if they wanted to drive more than 2 hours without stopping to recharge. The trip wound up taking them a couple of days because they didn’t want to freeze. That one 20 minute radio segment told me all i ever need to know about electric cars.

Between the lines...She KNOWS plenty of people with Helicopters(or at least their husbands do), some who were going to attend the Climate Change rally.
Low key "begging" for a lift since she was 'on the way' anyway.

If you're going to San Francisco
Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair
If you're going to San Francisco
You're gonna meet some gentle people there
For those who come to San Francisco
Summertime will be a love-in there
In the streets of San Francisco
Gentle people with flowers in their hair
All across the nation such a strange vibration
People in motion
There's a whole generation with a new explanation
People in motion people in motion
For those who come to San Francisco
Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair
If you come to San Francisco

What #8 finds incredible on a local scale (did the people really vote for this idiot?), we are all finding equally incredible on a National scale, with The HairSniffer occupying the White House.
