(snip) Sources at the meeting told Townhall Mayorkas was visibly upset. DHS did not respond to a request for comment in time for publication.

Following the move by the Food and Drug Administration to close Florida's monoclonal antibody treatment sites after the federal government abruptly removed the treatments from Emergency Use Authorizations, the White House stated that the treatments used by the state do not work against the omicron variant and have side effects.
"The FDA yesterday, withdrew the EUA for some monoclonal antibody treatments because they don't work against omicron. But Florida continues to push for the treatment for people in the state. What's your response to Governor DeSantis? And what's your message to the people in Florida?" one reporter asked.

“If you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black” ~ Joe Biden, May 22, 2020. Biden later apologized for the comment after causing a firestorm, saying “I shouldn’t have been such a wise guy,” but his meaning was crystal clear: If you’re Black, you automatically vote Democrat. (snip) In a recent Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll, as reported by ABC News, just six in 10 Black Americans said they approved of Biden’s job performance, down significantly from about nine in 10 who approved in polls conducted through the first six months of Biden’s miserable presidency.

If you were writing a techno-thriller, you’d give your hero a backstory like Blake Hall’s. He’s a Harvard MBA, an alumnus of McKinsey & Co.’s ultracompetitive summer associate program, and comes from a family with a proud military tradition. He’s a decorated Army Ranger who saw action in Iraq (snip) So this past June, when he very publicly claimed that his company, ID.me, a player in the booming online identity-verification business, had uncovered one of the biggest heists in U.S. history—a $400 billion theft of pandemic unemployment payments perpetuated by cybercriminal gangs—it came with a certain veneer of credibility.

A Minneapolis man who attempted to run over a firefighter with his vehicle was released from custody Monday with zero bail required by Hennepin County Judge Regina Chu. [snip] Chu is best known for presiding over the manslaughter trial of former Brooklyn Center police officer Kim Potter. This is not the first time the Hennepin County judge has released violent criminals back onto the streets. Earlier this month, she temporarily released a man from jail so he could attend a funeral, but he never came back.

A man in black bloc behaving suspiciously near a right-wing rally outside the Pinellas County Courthouse in Florida on Jan. 6 was apprehended by deputies after he tried fleeing on foot. Garrett James Smith, 22, was arrested and found carrying an active pipe bomb, Antifa propaganda and a written document on what to bring for his direct action. He had recently returned from Portland, Ore. Smith was purportedly targeting dozens of the attendees of a rally protesting the treatment of Jan. 6 suspects on the one-year anniversary of the U.S. Capitol riot.

When law enforcement touted foiling a months-long kidnapping plot of Michigan Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer in October 2020 that spanned several states and included encrypted chats and explosives, many believed it was an open-and-shut case. But more than a year later, critics say the arrest and convictions of the lead FBI agent and an FBI confidential informant blurred the line between extremist and confidential informant. Moreover, three planned witnesses have been accused of crimes and won't be testifying in the March 8 trial in Grand Rapids as defense attorneys question the FBI's credibility.

Rooftop solar companies aren’t exactly starting out the new year with the sun shining on their faces.
Shares of residential solar companies Sunrun and Sunnova have fallen 19% and 14%, respectively, since the California Public Utilities Commission put subsidies for rooftop solar—known as net metering—on the chopping block in December. The commission plans to vote on Jan. 27 after taking public comments. Florida is also considering legislation that would cut such subsidies. The shock to their share prices isn’t surprising given that the two rooftop solar companies don’t yet generate a profit; their shares trade largely on growth prospects.

The 17-month delay between a search warrant that secured longtime CNN producer John Griffin’s devices in Vermont and an arrest on child trafficking charges shows that feds "don’t give a da-- about these kind of cases," according to a former FBI agent turned whistleblower who has taken the bureau to task for years. "He obviously is a sexual predator, and has gone from grooming children into actually ‘capturing’ them," said Jane Turner, a former FBI special agent who blew the whistle on the FBI’s mishandling of child sex crime cases in North Dakota’s Native American reservations. "Very, very dangerous offender."

DC Metropolitan Police officer Michael Fanone, who was attacked during the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol in Washington, DC, has handed in his resignation and will become a law enforcement commentator at CNN following his departure. 41-year-old Fanone resigned Monday, slamming his fellow police officers within the department by stating that many of their allegiances are with former President Donald Trump, not the Constitution, according to the Daily Mail. [snip] Fanone often appeared on national TV, most frequently on CNN. His appearances on the news channel did not impress his colleagues, who reportedly then mocked him in internal chat rooms, Fanone told The Washington Post.

According to the outlet, one text exchange featured the producer telling the source how his fiancé’s daughter was "wearing very closely cut bottoms at the pool," before graphically describing how he could see the outline of her genitals.

Fox News anchor Chris Wallace, one of the few high-profile news personalities who retained a reputation of integrity as the channel he worked for leaned hard into right-wing and conspiratorial programming, announced Sunday that he is departing the network and joining CNN+ to host a weekday show. [snip] Shortly after his announcement, CNN announced that Wallace will join CNN+, the news organization's streaming product launching in early 2022, to host a show featuring interviews with newsmakers "across politics, business, sports and culture."

Another Brandon incompetent appointment.
