We need the guy to be at least semi-competent. If he destroys the country in the meantime, what good is it if Republicans retake control in 2024.

This year will be worse than Biden’s first year because he has filled the cabinet and agency head positions with leftists even more ideologically deranged than he is. With many selected for their race and gender, not competence. And Biden does NOT need Congress since the leftists who are now in charge of the DoJ, FBI, State, EPA, the Pentagon, Agriculture, FDA, CDC and dozens of federal agencies can and will impose ever more regulations which do not require Congressional approval. Finally, Biden has been and will continue filling open federal judgeships with candidates who see the Constitution as an impediment. Remember that if the GOP does manage to win control of the House and Senate in 2022, control won’t begin until 2023. And the only effective tools available will be in hopefully rejecting replacement leftists and reducing departmental and agency budgets. With budget cuts, if any, occurring in 2024. Elections have consequences, and we are and will continue to suffer these consequences.

Besides our erratic weather and president, few things get talked about this time of year more than body weight. Not mine. Yours. All the good intentions and dutiful miles of autumn jogging went into the dumpster with last weekend’s consumption of adult beverages and the previous holiday weekend’s meats, potatoes, beans, stuffing, gravy, and the pecan pie of Grandma Jennie, who’d have been crushed if you didn’t thoughtfully take seconds. At least. [Snip] So, are you overweight? Gallup asked Americans...

American politics has not always been like today’s stale, zero-sum game of marathon maneuvers for advantage that leave forgotten voters out in the cold as hapless spectators. A game where photo-ops that seek media attention are considered tactical successes, over ensuring that specific services get delivered to citizens. For all its chronic corruption, patronage, and nepotism, the Chicago Democratic political machine has always interested me as an example of legendary political success. By 2030, its now-frayed and fractious dominance of the country’s second, now third-largest city will be a century-old. Like everywhere Chicago’s politics are changing now, of course, riven by

Bob Dole didn’t die when a German mortar shell blew him into the crisp spring air of the Italian mountains in 1944, tearing apart his right side. He didn’t die when he lay in a foxhole there for nine hours, presumed dead. He did die 77 years later on Sunday, at the age of 98, peacefully in his sleep in the Watergate apartment complex where he’s long lived with wife Elizabeth. Presumably from the Stage 4 lung cancer he announced earlier this year. During those intervening years, this Kansas prairie boy who would be the last member of the Greatest Generation to seek the presidency, lived a life of

Joe Biden tried to make the best of the latest awful economic report the other day. Reading what he’d been told, the president claimed wishfully, “Our jobs recovery is going very strong.” [Snip] Making his latest false claim, the 79-year-old Biden looked awful and sounded worse. He reported his kissy grandson gave him a cold. So, sounds scientifically like neither was wearing a mandated mask. But Americans weren’t the only ones noting Joe Biden’s latest disturbing sign of weakness. The same day

While national media focus attention on Washington issues and political skirmishes, across the country, Republican governors and state legislatures are quietly building an enduring foundation of legislative districts, laws, state rules, and institutions that strongly favor the GOP in coming years and elections. This stunning matrix of Republican domination state-by-state reflects a growing voter preference for GOP policies at that level, dating back to 2010 and Barack Obama’s disastrous first midterm elections. [Snip] While media tend to focus on congressional redistricting, the GOP has been quietly designing state legislative districts that give them enduring majorities and political control, even if Democrats manage to get a governor’s

Joe Biden felt a need to escape the luxury of the White House for the holiday. So just before burning a few tons of jet fuel and emitting fresh carbon emissions on the four-hour flight to Nantucket, President Climate Change ordered the Energy Department to release 50 million barrels of oil from the nation’s precious Strategic Petroleum Reserve. He says his decisive action will help ease the gasoline price surge. Yeh, right. The only thing his PR move will do is get him

Like many parts of the country, some Los Angeles areas are experiencing serious increases in crime, especially assaults and robberies. In these “follow-home crimes,” the perps stake out fancy restaurants, nightclubs, expensive stores, and jewelry shops. [Snip] To combat these crimes the LAPD put out a memo advising not to resist. Joe Biden fights inflation by spending more. He secures the border by paying illegals who cross. He releases violent criminals with no bail. Pulls US troops from Afghanistan before civilians.

Joe Biden went to Virginia the other day to help Terry McAuliffe lose his bid to regain that governor’s office, in a most embarrassing slap at Biden’s own administration and weak leadership. A considerable chunk of Biden’s 18-minute remarks was devoted to – wait for it – ex-president Donald Trump, who wasn’t in the race and smartly had not said much about the Virginia contest. “Remember this,” Biden said, “I ran against Donald Trump. And Terry is running against an acolyte of Donald Trump.” [Snip] Former President Trump is long gone from Washington’s halls of powers. As often seems to happen, Joe Biden lost his train of thought the other night. He was on international TV, trying to explain why the supply-chain crisis is not his fault. He got the Port of Los Angeles part down all right, but couldn’t remember the other, huge California port. Then he asked, “What am I doing here?” Cooper Anderson helped Biden remember. Who, really, is in charge at the White House? It sure doesn’t look to be President Joe Biden. The latest evidence came last week when Chief of Staff Ron Klain delivered a behind-the-scenes message to Democratic allies and staff, just hours after Biden’s disastrous news conference: The prez had failed to mention that his next Build Back Better bill would fund child and elder care, but Klain insisted it would. As Axios reported, “Klain’s private comments are yet another indication the White House has a core set of priorities it plans to fight for” . . . even if the president doesn’t know about it fully yet. CORRECTION*

President Biden was caught on a hot mic Monday appearing to call Fox News reporter Peter Doocy a "stupid son of a b****" in response to a question asked at the start of a White House event on lowering the prices on consumer goods. As the meeting at the White House wrapped up, a reporter asked the president for an update on a call held earlier in the day on the situation in Ukraine. Biden seemed impatient that the question had veered off the topic of the meeting. “The only reason I don’t like doing this is that you never

A Missouri university is hosting an online forum that will explore whether the term 'professionalism' is racist—and according to the event's synopsis, it is. The February 1 presentation at Washington University's St. Louis campus centers around a term defined by Merriam-Webster as 'the conduct, aims, or qualities that characterize or mark a profession or a professional person.' An explainer for the upcoming virtual event reads: 'The term “professionalism” has at times been used to silence and marginalize people of color, when attributes of appearance, language or interactions that have nothing to do with job knowledge or constructive collegial relationships are labeled as “unprofessional”. 'In this context, so-called professionalism

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has finally acknowledged a point that COVID dissenters have been making since at least the creation of the first coronavirus vaccine: Natural immunity counts. A study published by the Biden CDC on Monday found that “persons with vaccine- and infection-derived immunity,” the latter of which is the agency’s term for natural immunity, “had much lower rates of hospitalization compared with those in unvaccinated persons” during the study period. Conducted in New York and California between May and November of 2021, the study also found that natural immunity offered even “greater” protection “after the highly transmissible Delta variant became predominant,

The incumbent drew Trump’s ire when she voted — along with nine other Republicans — to impeach the former president on Jan. 13
