Berlin - Berlin is ruling out arms deliveries to Ukraine in the standoff with Russia for now, German Defence Minister Christine Lambrecht said in an interview published on Saturday, a few days after Britain started supplying Kyiv with anti-tank weapons.
A bipartisan group of U.S. senators also promised weapons to Ukraine, which could include missiles, small arms and boats, to help the country defend itself from a potential invasion amid a Russian military build-up on its borders.

Germany’s defense budget is so small, they probably don’t even HAVE any antitank weapons. And previous posters are correct: they won’t do anything to make Russia mad enough to cut off their gas supplies in the middle of winter.

Why should Germany, or any NATO country for that matter, take any risk with regard to Ukraine when it’s uncertain if Comrade XIden — based on his actions/inactions in Afghanistan — will do ANYTHING to back them up in event of conflict there.
Let’s go Brandon!

From 2015….” Germany 'Can't Explain' Use of Broomsticks Instead of Guns in NATO Exercise”.
Can’t even spare a few used broomsticks….

I don't think Ukraine ever made alliances with other countries. Maybe they were just counting on NATO to defend them? Besides Russian territory, it's the largest country in Europe. But it's one of the weakest.

Germany doesn't buy parts for their own tanks and aircraft, why would they provide anything to Ukraine?
And #2 is correct. THIS is why Putin wanted to get Europe, especially Germany addicted to his gas supply, it's all about control.
When you have them by the thermostats.....you just squeeze.

Sounds like several posters would like Biden to do something. No one says what. No one explains the US National interest at stake. One more tar baby for the US to punch.

#13, Biden has ALREADY done something. One careless remark on a “minor incursion” did plenty to set all this in motion

Re #13, yes, we should train and arm Ukraine to whatever degree is productive. Ukrainian warriors have been fighting for their country for years now, pushing back against the Russian incursion with very few weapons and little training.
Providing top quality antitank weapons, and training in how to best employ them would be a good start. And some anti-battery radars, too. These pinpoint where artillery shells were fired from, rapidly giving coordinates on where to fire back your artillery. And plenty of arty shells, too.
I know at least one American who went over to fight with the Ukrainians, strictly a civilian, did it on his lonesome - because he wanted to fight against a huge state taking over a small state. Last I heard, he had been wounded, although not too badly.

#13 - Biden’s remark was stupid, and only in context of a US response. Without NATO backing, American response is pretty empty. Are you ready to send troops to rumble?
#14 - Unless those are correspondence courses or zoom classes, American trainers will be in Ukraine. What happens if the balloon goes up? Direct involvement as “advisors”? Another skedaddle? Sorry about Ukraine’s troubles. Not willing to shed a drop of American blood in sympathy. There is no national issue at stake. NATO can do that heavy lifting - and they won’t. They won’t even send schnitzelwagons. This is today’s NATO, toothless and cowering.
